If tensions keep building, I would prohibit all airlines of nato's countries to use Russian airspace for transit.
Only Chinese and other aisian airlines would be abble to fly as usual.

If your conference was canceled and the flight is maintained on the date of scheduled travel, you will loose your money. No show, not refundable. If TAP canceled the flight on the date of scheduled travel, you can ask for refund. So, if I was you, I would wait until May 2021 and see which of the two...

This last Friday (06 March 2020), late afternoon. The A330 is mostly used for commercial flights to Europe. Is it an A330 of LATAM ? In this case, the ATC from Luxemburg, or Cologne, or Maastricht could not take over the traffic? It is just to bring the planes closed to Brussels and then the control tower takes over.

CGN is also a good option for a short trip. Leave the car at P+R Weiden West (free parking) and buy a 2,90 Euros train ticket direct to CGN train station. DB is more realiable that SNCB.

What's the point to have a "network", if you have to wait 7 days for your luggages, when strikes hit the airport unexpectivly, when airport closes for 24 hours due to energy problems, when trains are suddenly not running and so on...
