Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
“Everything that is exaggerated is insignificant” said Prince Talleyrand Perigord, probably to Napoleon. Standstill means decline. Dionisios to Astmadatis But it's not a standstill in 1996 they delivered A pier and main building the B came just after it's almost new and these are quality buildings ...

Re: BRU Winter 2025 - 2026: news, new routes, airlines
And, don't forget, to have the border control already at BRU for the States. Question only is when the government will give green light to set it up Which government? Belgian? US? Canada? Will BRU become a UA base if they do BRU-BOS? Only Belgian and US. But it's more the US government who has to b...

Re: BRU Winter 2025 - 2026: news, new routes, airlines
But at this moment the negotiations are on the way with UA, and the governments of course, to open the routes from Boston and Houston to BRU. Wich is not surprising at all since there is a big project going on between Air Canada and United Airlines to provide more flights and destination from the U...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
And here we go... BBL (Bond Beter Leefmilieu) strongly opposes the permit for Brussels Airport, they criticise the lack of ambition of BAC to evolve towards a more ecologicaly friendly operation, and not caring about people living around the airport. They lament about the rising nitrogen exaust due ...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
What are the proposal of this permit and wich organisation has to sign? One of the most important items in the renewing of the environmental permit is the MER, Milieu Effecten Rapport. But in this, BRU scored very well with all the actions and efforts they took since many year. Important in this pe...

Re: BRU Winter 2023-2024: news, new routes, airlines
A Pier West, like any other plan for improvement or expansion will not happen within the next 10 years. BRU is indeed condemned to an eternal-looking status-quo. It would be recommendable to improve P B-Pier arrivals. The dead boring corridor, the long queues at immigration, the longlong waiting at...

Re: BRU Winter 2023-2024: news, new routes, airlines
If I were BRU and wanted to attract more l/h airlines i would! Heavily modernize Pier B arrival Make the passport control faster and more efficient Baggage delivery faster and more efficient This are a few things airlines and their PAX want. BRU puts too much money in fancy offices and parkings for...

Re: BRU Winter 2023-2024: news, new routes, airlines
Knowing the lack of ambition from BRU, we can in the very best case only expect CX,TG to resume their plans to come(back) to BRU. AA has totally dropped BRU. UA is happy with a few destinations from BRU in USA and has more places to go from AMS to US. ANA perhaps a few flights more per week... And ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
That said, in 2025 or 2026, when US pre-clearance is open in BRU and 789s or 78Xs become available, opening MIA or IAH would make more sense than a double-daily to IAD, imo, one-stop service between BRU and Central/South America without the hassle of clearing US immigration at IAH or MIA, neither o...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
And how would they accomplish that easily? Leisure travelers are first and foremost price sensitive. Business travelers focus on frequencies, preferably daily if not more often than that. So which segment can BRU compete against easily? O/D to overseas territories on which AF/KL now have a (near)mo...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
What a lack of ambition from SN and/or LH. BRU and SN could easily take away market-share and PAX from AMS and CDG. And how would they accomplish that easily? Leisure travelers are first and foremost price sensitive. Business travelers focus on frequencies, preferably daily if not more often than t...

Maybe off topic; but can we please stop the constant bashing on SN ? Not only off topic but also not relevant and repetitive, this is a forum not a fanclub! People are free to give their opinion, that’s what forums are for, as long as it’s done politely. When people make wrong comparisons, just poi...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
The so-called savoir-faire for African destinations is actually a poor and risky niche business. It's the bread and butter of SN. One African country after the other falls in hands of Russia and its Wagner mercenaries. Always blowing things out of proportion  Four countries... Of which only o...

Re: RwandAir & Rwandan Aviation News 2023
I would say 50 / 50. Both have premium eco. I know SkyTraxx has not good reputation among Avgeeks (but not outside Avgeeks community), but both airlines are 3 stars SkyTrax and RwandAir is ranked 90th and Brussels Airlines 100th, in the 2023 SkyTrax Ranking. https://www.worldairlineawards.com/world...

Re: RwandAir & Rwandan Aviation News 2023
Planning a holiday at my wife's motherland Rwanda next summer. Rwandair 3800 euro r/t for 3 adults (13yo son included) and 1 child. SN 5000 euro  These are of course 'direct' flights in the sense of not having to transfer. Other options (TK, ET,...) have unfavourable arrival hours (passed mid...

Re: D R Congo creates an airline with Air France-KLM: Congo Airways
Congo Airways temporarily suspends flights from 11sept2023. The airline hasn't aircraft to fly. They are grounded due tech issues https://taarifa.rw/congo-airways-suspends-domestic-flights-over-safety-issues/ Remains only CAA to operate domestic flights, but the airline is also struggling. They hav...

According to: https://sites.google.com/view/europeanairlinefleets/bel an 11th A330 could come even earlier than foreseen... Rumour say that OO-SFL; OO-SFK; OO-SFP could rejoin the SN fleet. Could be actually logical since they were already register in the past in Belgium so it could be administrati...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
In Autumn, the construction of a new parking tower at the airport is going to start, it will be located across the road from the kiss and ride zone, I don't know if it will be for pax or just for staff. Nothing heard or seen about it, but it could make sense to combine a few staff parking's on one ...
