Re: Lufthansa targetting Brussels Airlines
On an afterthought, I'm not seeing SN's total fleet number evolve from the current almost 50. There are so many routes where cooperation will reduce competition that less hardware will be needed, and some foreign hardware can also be used solely on certain routes. Eventually it is really the ratio ...

Re: Jet Airways to start Bangalore-Brussels
Nothing changes. You get on the bus, are taken to the terminal and over there you can transfer to the B-concourse again without entering Belgium.lumumba wrote:To tolipanebas.
O.K but if they have to take a flight to the U.S like US,UA,AA etc...
What than?

Re: Jet Airways to start Bangalore-Brussels
Are you sure? I was under the impression there was going to be a real border control checkpoint set up inside the A pier (at the devider between schengen and non-schengen), so that there would be no need for bussing the pax over to the end of the B pier to clear customs... The boxes (where the offi...

Re: Lufthansa targetting Brussels Airlines
So Brussels Airport would openly choose the side of one of the alliances (Oneworld), not caring about the alliance of their home carrier (SN) while all possible OW-connections have an alternative with *A?itami wrote: Have sweet dreams !

Re: Jet Airways to start Bangalore-Brussels
As far as gates available at BRU goes, I think there are works in pier A linked to this. I have the very clear impression that part (the end of it of course) of pier A will become non-Schengen and possibly intercontinental only at some hours. They have narrowed the entrance and it would be possible...

3 extra gates come available when SN moves their African flights from B-pier to A-pier.FlyJet wrote:lumumba:
I have given an extract of the Jetairways Schedule. You can visit http://www.jetairways.com and find out more. All they need are 7 gates from 7:30 am to 11:00 am - should be possible.

Re: Lufthansa targetting Brussels Airlines
Indeed Airbus330lover, I cannot imagine LH is the only interested group. Look at OS who has 12 potential investors at this moment. Will 9W, OW and Brussels Airport simply let this happen ? Pressure is growing. Maybe still some surprise(s) to come soon ? Why would Brussels Airport care? They will be...

Re: Lufthansa targetting Brussels Airlines
It is now official and the press release is up on the Lufthansa website http://konzern.lufthansa.com/en/html/presse/pressemeldungen/index.html?c=nachrichten/app/show/en/2008/08/852/HOM&s=0 I suppose the alliance will thus be STAR and the transatlantic code shares with AA replaced by flights fro...

Re: Jet Airways to start Bangalore-Brussels
Indeed, it's now confiremed that the BLR flight is going to be just a feeder flight for the 3 NA routes 9W has out of BRU just as I thought; its different style of flight number pretty much gave it away. Now, what's interesting to know if whether 9W will have to increase capacity on the existing 3 ...

Re: Jet Airways to start Bangalore-Brussels
A feeder flight?? No way, 9W has an excellent domestic timetable were people can took a plane at BLR to MAA or DEL for a flight via BRU to NA. Yes, but with a terminator flight to BRU pax from that airport can do it in only one transfer in stead of two and from what I've heard transferring is horri...

On Monday, july 28 I left from Brussels to Tokyo. The first leg of my flight was with Austrian to Vienna. Boarding was at gate A45 at 10.10 Because boarding didn’t start on time I decided to go to the ladies “restroom” next to gate 45 at around 10.15. All of the toilets were incredibly dirty (I won...

Re: Aviapartner strike @ Brussels Airport (and Flightcare too)
Would a third handler really be THE solution ?? If they start, they will be working under the same conditions (partair comitee) and thus minimum pays will be mandatory. So, where will the difference be ?? Minimum pays, yes, maximum pays, no. By making working and salary conditions better this BAC d...

Re: Aviapartner strike @ Brussels Airport (and Flightcare too)
What solution? However many the operators, they'll all be operating under the same rules - that's what free enterprise is about. So all operators will be underpaying and overstressing their staff alike. No frigging use to add more. Then it's time to change the rules and guarantee better work and sa...

Re: Aviapartner strike @ Brussels Airport (and Flightcare too)
It's now official: Brussels Airport received a warning of some airlines. They will not allow such actions of the handling agents. They will leave the airport with the next big general strike. Which airlines? And if that is not enough, Aviapartner will strike again (the apply is sended) when the man...

Not really. Chennai will be five weekly, A330. New York JFK will be daily, 77W. Delhi will go to 77W, and be increased from 5 weekly to daily. So routings will become: Chennai - BRU - Toronto, A330, 5 weekly, and Delhi - BRU - JFK, 77W, daily. And BOM-BRU-EWR will remain a daily 77W? Why flying to ...

Builing a new concourse, only for 9W would not be very smart, because the biggest number of gates will be unused true out the rest of the day. Unless SN will be able to use the same terminal, because of their alliance with 9W. Building a new international terminal for all flights (and particulary fo...

I heard another version from several people last week. B-concourse would become Jet Airways Terminal. New C-concourse would be built for all other non-A- and non-B-concourse traffic. Though I find this a bit strange, I could see a full-widebody B-concourse and non-widebody C-concourse. It would be ...

Could this also mean that they consider to move the LHR flights to Brussels Airport? I heard this rumour two months ago, but it's not 100% reliable. But it is a possibility, even more so if 9W wil get it's own concourse at BRU (and some financial advantages) and since London is only a leap away fro...
