Re: Emirates 777-300 crash-landing at DXB
Automated evacuation commands should be a given on a 200 million USD jet. Sometimes pax are asleep and they shouldn't have to figure out by themselves that something happened and that people are evacuating the aicraft after seeing the last people run to the exits. In English and local languages ple...

Re: Spectacular British Airways Boeing 777 left-engine fire on take-off roll Las Vegas
Would love to see a pic from the other side... Also, I see they removed the fan for some reason... Curious why that would be... A GE90, as a GenX, is too big to be transported in 1 piece in most of the cargo A/C so they can remove and transport fan part and core part separately. Hence the removal o...

Re: Jetairfly, Jetair, Arke and others become TUI
one Engineering and Maintenance division will do maintenance for all aircraft; Monarch is responsible for the maintenance in the UK, Finnair for TUIFly Nordic, AFKLM for Corsair, not sure about TUIfly in Germany? Thomson have their own maintenance department. Monarch has nothing to do with them. TU...

Re: Jetairfly in 2015
according to: http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jetairfly their fleet will be expanded in 2015 with an e-190, 2 737-800 and 1 737-700? Are these brand new aircraft from the factory or 'older' ones transferred by one of the other airlines in the TUI Group or leasings? the E190 is factory new, the 737-700...

Re: The Jetairfly Boeing 787
Companies prefer short flights for training because it accelerates the training and pilots can be "released" from flying with instructors a lot quicker in time. Spending 7 hours in cruise for line training is a waste of time, especially if you have 13 other pilots waiting to do the same t...

Re: Dead man flew 7 flights above Europe in landing gear A33
the wheel well of an A330 is not inspected every flight, not even every day. before at Sabena & SN we did it during weekly inspections. the wheel well of the A330 has 'a nice spot' for stow aways where on the A340 there is the center gear. you can't see if anybody is lying there. So there is not...

Re: Slide deployment A319 @ BRU today (7 Oct)
How do you forget such a thing? On all flights I've ever been on, this action is explicitly requested and confirmed to have been performed. also a white 'slide' indicator will come on at the door when the slide is not disarmed. if you don't notice this, you are getting blind. opening the door from ...

Re: list of airplanes and their prices
for boeing the prices are at this link
http://www.boeing.com/commercial/prices/index.html

Re: Continental 1st US airline with new Boeing Sky Interior
the sky interiour is very overrated. nothing special with it at all. you can only have white, which hurts your eyes, blue and kind of 'sunrise/sunset' orange.
the bins on the other hand are bigger and they take less space in the cabin. so thats a real improvement!
