Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

The future ticket sales and fares integration of SN's European ops into the Eurowings pole could be speed up by the beginning of the S19 season (thus March 31st 2019). SN's African ops under the SN brand seems to be written in the marble for the mid-future... It's less certain as far as NATL ops are...

Re: Expansion United Airlines

As from April 1st 2019, a Dreamliner should be deployed on one of UA's BRU routes ;) .

I can only see IAD as a candidate, since EWR and ORD aren't yet 787 bases for UA.

Re: Ethiopian Airlines Expansion.

Dear SN26567, ET never "siphoned" any SN pax as the codeshare agreement was limited in terms of seats numbers. ET definitely doesn't need SN to have its operations worked out of BRU, believe me. At a given time, when mutual trust was broken between 9W and SN, there was indeed a pax siphonn...

Re: Brussels Airlines loses three of its 7 weekly frequencies to Kinshasa

Troubled times ahead for DR Congo. Simply. Elections are always a period where demand is slowing down, both pax and cargo. I assume forward booking where much lower than what they used to be at this time of the year. And I think it looks to be even more difficult this year as far as these "elec...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

 I don't want to minimize the work carried out when a retrofit is completed at SN (SN mechanics are amongst the best when it comes to line maintenance), but it's a fact that their retrofits are not always up the details. Look at how Delta retrofits its 767 for example. Some even feature the B...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Fact is a 9 years old airplane will always (most likely) look better than a 25 years old one. There is retrofit and retrofit. When SN says it retrofits a plane it's minimalist to say the least. The last years (2005-2006 / 2012-2013) it was only removing old seats for new ones, almost the same lavato...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

The interior of OO-SFC is far from being a hard punishment: https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/7815191 Basically the regional products of Asian carriers is up the long-haul product standards of many European carriers. This one is much more attractive than what EW proposes on the A340s. Now, I know it's...

Re: Air Belgium in 2018

The return flight leaves tomorrow at 11:40 local time (GMT+8) to arrive in CRL at 18:25 local time (GMT+2). And how many pax for the two flights? No offence to André here (I respect him very much) but don't expect an unbiased review coming from someone who is invited by Air Belgium PR dept. This is...

Re: Air Belgium in 2018

The forward booking figure for the whole month of May (before they decided to cancel the flights/bookings due to the problem with Russian authorities) was: 60 passengers !!! :o  No wonders why they were not in a hurry to clear that hurdle... This figure comes from L'Echo, not from me...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

DUS-RSW in 9h54' with OO-SFO, flight must have been half empty or with a consequent payload penalty... Strange they didn't "request" SFX or an A332... :?: I've talked with someone of UPAV yesterday, and many Belgian travel agents are very upset about the CityJet situation. Many cancellatio...

I juste saw the article about EK's cancellations out BRU, but I only numbered three (??) cancellations on EK 181/182 on 22nd/23rd and 24th of May, am I right ?

Re: Brussels Airlines loses three of its 7 weekly frequencies to Kinshasa

The fact SN uses A332 doesn't necessarily means LAD isn't doing good. At least with an A332 they don't face any weight penalties for a direct BRU-LAD. It means more cargo... Weight penalties can be hefty ones on SFM/N/O/V/W... But they will still need to take up fuel in FIH for the FIH-BRU leg which...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

I cannot agree more with what was said in the two last posts. Some people here are ignorant or stupid enough to follow the statements and propaganda spread by the SN communication dept or the so-called managers of the very "successful and profitable" EW (remains to be seen and analyzed). A...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

I can't agree more with your statement. Pilots and CC have more than been rolled by the management. It's more than time for the payback. The pilot's market will dictate the future shape of SN, but management will have to give something else than a discount at Volvo dealership or a bottle of (bad) d...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

Well. I fully support the Brussels airlines pilots. The only thing what management is doing is looking numbers, but they forget that behind those numbers are ppl like you and me. Ppl who sacrificed in the past in favour of the company. Management always think in terms of gaining, getting, but givin...

Re: Air Belgium in 2018

Sorry but if you have 2 airplanes and 4 flights a week no way should there be 2 days without a flight... specially on Friday Saturday out of Belgium or no weekend flight out of China... Very strange flight schedule indeed for a stand-alone airline: CRL-HKG 1-34--7 and HKG-CRL 12-45--. When somethin...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

One must wonder : what does OO-SFB do for Eurowings ?? SN is in desperate need of a proper "new" A330 with full cargo capacity, and this plane is sent to EW to send german tourists to Palma de Mallorca... Why don't they (EW) take OO-SFM for this purpose ? It even has the same engines as th...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

Why don’t they call Air Belgium? Two A340s ready to go with a couple of hours notice. (I know why, but I will be shot down in flames if I write it down) Because I think that calling Mont-Saint-Guibert in a "certain" language requires skill and swallowing its own "pride". After a...
