May I suggest you do some homework before trying to stir up things? Mainline operates less than 300 aircraft.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Please forgive my ignorance, but in such a brands mess, a cat would not recognize her kittens. Which are the 3 small budget airlines within the LH Group ? Thanks ! Like member Oldblueeys was saying: Brussels Airlines, Austrian Airlines and Discover Thank you. What about Eurowings ? Eurowings operat...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
I'm the one discrimated. Sorry, but you’re not being discriminated at all! Discrimination would be when origin, religion, gender,… would be used as a parameter to determine your score during the job interview. As you got the job, your mother tongue wasn’t used against you, so you have not been disc...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Aviation24.be decided to refrain from comments given the sensitive feeling of language, especially in this country. Please also refrain from A vs B stories and vv. There is no such need for allegations and attacks. The more important item about the article is the management of Lufthansa. The articl...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
The article fails to point out the real problem: language skills of Francophone candidates for the position of cabin crew are problematic! How is the French level of the Flemish candidates? Getting worse and worse, if you pay peanuts…. It isn’t solely the level of French/Dutch, it’s also the level ...

Some "food for thought" , This trend is becoming increasingly common among Belgian Francophone customers. Feedback is reaching travel agencies, including in the African market... The article fails to point out the real problem: language skills of Francophone candidates for the position of...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Why should we stop looking at history ? This is a good forum to understand better the mistakes of the past. In 2 or 3 years from now we can maybe exchange ideas and explanations about the fantastic strategy that LH is now applying for SN. Woaw finally a positive post about Brussels Airlines! You mi...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Before IAG was founded, SN and BRU could have played a role to BA and LHR in a much bigger extend then it did to LH. The added value of SN would have been significantly bigger for the first two. So why didn’t BA buy then? Brussels Airlines was for sale for peanuts, BA could easily have bought it. (...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Quite interesting to hear this when you know that IAG did exactky what Lufthansa wanted to do with Eurowings at Brussels airport. Replaced many SN flights by Eurowings flights. As someone said, Iberia now operates very few flights outside Madrid. The most of flights are now operated by Vueling. And...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Short-haul fleet: Airbus A321neo I think now it's clear, Brussels Airlines doesn't want to use A321XLR. But the A321neo because they have a bigger cargo capacity to fly to Africa! You don’t seem to understand Patrice: an A321neo needs auxiliary fuel tanks in the aft cargo to have the range for Afri...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Oneworld and IAG would have been the far better option for SN. I don’t know how many times it needs to be repeated, but IAG wasn’t interested in buying SN, ONLY Luftie was. It was Luftie or bankrupt, FULL STOP! IAG was close to open an Open Skies (the, more business orientated predecessor of Level)...

Re: Air Belgium in 2024
So, 5 passengers came on board with an economy boarding pass but pretended they were, according to an agreement with their company, entitled to sit in business class. Captain offers four of them an upgrade as there are only four empty seats in the front. The five make a fuss about it, demand that an...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
SN's shareholders were so naive in the end in their selling strategy that a smart LH managed to buy it for peanuts. It allowed them to sideline competition at BRU at a minimal cost which in turn would be offset by flying Belgian passengers to LH's main hubs. For that purpose it has kept SN on a lif...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
OK, mentioning Easyjet because it starts flying to West Africa was a mistake because, so far, they will only fly to Cape Verde. As to your comparison Beerschot/Haaland I think you missed my point. I am not suggesting a 777X for SN, "just" the A321LR to increase destinations and frequencie...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
If you see the expansion plans of EasyJet it is again obvious to me that SN needs A321 long range to increase destinations and frequencies (trafic rights permitting) to Western abd Central Africa. Seriously? What on earth do the plans of easyJet have in common with SN operations to Africa? You’ll p...
