Re: Belgocontrol ATC strike from 22 April 2016

So it's not illegal to declare oneself unfit for duty based on emotional state. Well if he's still so emotional today that he is unfit to work, then a doctor should probably order he take a few months off, and re-evaluate after that. Can't have our lives in the hands of these highly emotional people.

Re: Belgocontrol ATC strike from 22 April 2016

I can't judge them unless we know the exact circumstances that lead to that. You can judge them. If they want to take industrial action that is their right, and there is a whole procedure to follow. These guys were completely irresponsible and immature and engaged in an illegal strike. Judge them o...

Re: Breaking: Belgocontrol air traffic control strike (22 april 2016)

What do you want them to do? Calling in sick is not exactly illegal... You would fire them for it? Good luck with the law suits coming up... Of course I know it's a strike in disguise... But you people seem to think that anything can be done at anytime to do something against this sort of actions. ...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks

If they cannot make it work, they should say. And airlines shall use regional airports for a little longer. It was proven to work good. Indeed, it sounds like they need to scale back, and send more traffic back to the alternative airports. They clearly cannot cope with this number of flights, half ...

(No flights didn't help of course, but Japanese travel agents recommend Japanese stay in small area around the Grand' Place).

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks

The lack of public transport is a scandal. They should allow all De Lijn buses and the one STIB/MIVB bus that typically operate to the airport to operate again, even if they need to foresee a new bus stop area.

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2016

Brussels Airport Police threaten to strike. They want all passengers to amass in a tent first and have their luggage screened there. Seems to me that this plan would just move a bomber's target from the hall to the tent. Looks like they want a few more days off :-(
