Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
The aim is not right or wrong here, I don't work for Brussels Airlines but after reading through all these messages some thoughts did pop in my mind. Take them for what they are worth. The reality out there is that the world of leisure has stopped and needs to be "re-booted". There is only...

Re: Klasjet Airline Crews Arrest Becomes a Part of the Football Game
Are these the same "interviews" Ryanair crews in Charleroi were subjected to? I wouldn't call them "witness" interviews and if done before flights there is a good reason to cancel the flight. There is a good amount of pressure put on the crews and a fair amount of insinuations do...

Re: Belarus forces diversion to Minsk of Ryanair flight carrying a dissident in order to arrest him
The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy's job is to speak on behalf of the EU member states provided they are in unanimous agreement on an issue at the Council of National Ministers on Foreign Affairs... Again you blame the EU for not doing what it cannot do. Th...

Re: Belarus forces diversion to Minsk of Ryanair flight carrying a dissident in order to arrest him
Do enlighten us: on what legal grounds could the EU have done more than it did? And this time kindly answer the question. Effective diplomacy. Aviation security is EU responsibility (includes hijacking) EU already cooperates directly with ICAO when it comes to safety and security All nations have a...

Re: Belarus forces diversion to Minsk of Ryanair flight carrying a dissident in order to arrest him
That's a lot of words for a plain simple reality: Start: an intra-Schengen flight full of European citizens is intercepted and guided by a MIG to land on non-schengen, non-EU soil. A guy who had every right to be intra-Schengen on that flight is taken off and put into prison outside of Europe End: a...

Re: Belarus forces diversion to Minsk of Ryanair flight carrying a dissident in order to arrest him
I wasn't aware that this was a political forum. I thought it was about aviation, leaving politics aside. If an American pilot comes over to do your job, the discussion is far from political. It's about making a living and supporting your family, paying taxes yet not being supported nor defended by ...

Re: Belarus forces diversion to Minsk of Ryanair flight carrying a dissident in order to arrest him
Thx. It's not european ban, there are some national bans. I understand better. So national ban and european blah ! Well, the EU "suggests" and every EU country still has the right to make a decision. I can't see anything wrong here, on the contrary. It’s a huge problem and this mentality ...

Re: (Belgian) flight crew commuting to Belgium
A few cross-border super commuters? I think people should stop projecting their work environment on the world. The world of aviation isn't passengers flying out of Brussels or Charleroi. The world of aviation isn't holiday people looking for the sun in Spain, but that is used as a reference. If you ...

Re: (Belgian) flight crew commuting to Belgium
How do you know you didn’t have any problems if you don’t test??? You could have been an asymptomatic super spreader of the British variant and infected a dozen people without even being aware of it. Fact is that travellers are responsible for the import of variants, a crew member is not an Ubermen...

Re: (Belgian) flight crew commuting to Belgium
Being crew doesn’t protect you from getting or, even worse, spreading the virus! That depends on your company. I'm in the freight business (which might unfortunately be the most active pilot group in Belgium for the moment). We have special rules on the flightdeck to avoid contacts and spend days a...

Re: (Belgian) flight crew
Maybe you can try to contact BATA (Belgian Air Transport Association), they are negociating with the authorities and also represent the DHL crews. I suppose those crews, flying out of Leipzig, are facing the same problems.

Re: (Belgian) flight crew
I suppose the question is about coming back to Belgium after a duty? Going on duty is more a question of the regulations of the country you work in. Rules change with every change of measures, but as far as I'm aware you need to fill in the PFL and have proof of travel for business reasons from your...

Re: Boeing 737 (MAX) news
Are you a pilot? It's a ferry flight after storage in the desert, the Aviation Herald version is probably also not the correct version. But the idea is easy: if you have to shut down an engine because you can't rule out it's not a fuel leak after you've already had other problems on top, it's a reas...

If what is told in the press regarding the cooling requirements, dry ice will be the limitation. You can't simply load an aircraft full of pallets cooled by dry ice because of ventilation requirements.

Re: DHL A300-600 rejects takeoff above V1 due to difficulties becoming airborne
Well, as mentioned, that is less likely as the result of that would not "show" itself as an inability to raise the nose on takeoff, but as wheels staying on the ground beyond 10° of rotation... which ends up in tailstrikes. An inability to raise the nose for cargo pilots immediatly trigger...

Re: DHL A300-600 rejects takeoff above V1 due to difficulties becoming airborne
I would like to avoid any "cause" pinpointing, that's not what I'm here for but related to the comments... Why should the V1 have to be higher? From a regulatory point of view, whatever V1 you have chosen within certain acceptable limits (related to brake energy and controllability in the ...
