strange that on the VRT radio news they keep on reporting that the Ryanair 737-200 had an 'aborted take-off' due to 'a landing gear problem' (smoke from the tire(s) ), the plane 'didn't become airborne' and 'came to a full stop before the end of the runway' ... Kadhafi's flight back to Tripoli

Kadhafi's Afriqiyah A300 TS-IAY departed for Tripoli this afternoon around 15:00 local from 25R as Afrqiah flight 001, a couple of minutes behind Afriquah flight 002 in an unknown aircraft (presumably the A320 mentioned above). Both were assigned a ROUSY 1C departure by Brussels Clearance Delivery, ...

ok thanks of course we are unable to read off the exact gusts, thats why i was confused ... Normally, significant (see below) gusts are noted on the METAR report also, for example, for 18 knots gusts, the latest metar in the list above above would read EBBR 261120Z 07006 G18 KT 020V110 CAVOK 18/05 ...

Re: Teleconvertor for normal digicam (non-DSLR)

Does any of you have experience with a teleconverter for normal digicams (so not for FLR)? I once heard/read somthing that it would decrease the quality of the pics and the amount of light that enters true the lense or something like that. However the same should apply to teleconvertors for an SLR,...

EBBR bird strike : how often?

Hi all, Scanning the EBBR Approach and Tower frequencies last weekend (saturday evening I believe it was), I heard one of the landing pilots reporting a bird strike on 25L. ATC offered the nr 2 pilot approaching 25L to go for a go-around, but the pilot pilots and just continued the 25L approach. Aft...

Note that the reason why a 'fart from the wrong direction' overrides Bert's plan's default runway assigment is,as far as I know, Biac & the pilots associations, not Bert. I think that, knowing that probably 75% of the winds at EBBR are always from the 220-280 degrees range, Biac 'hoped' that by ...

good work, Incredible tool for would-like-to-be enthusiasts like me !

I've started making a text-only document of an aircraft identifier, but never got further than 10 types or so...
I missed both the knowledge and the time to finish it.
I can't wait to see a print-out version of this!
