Re: Re-opening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
the thing is that this would require a complete re-drawing of the aircraft using plan and crewing level. Our crew are contractually based in BRU and cannot just be shuffled up and down . Thes destinations an be supported by 2, maybe 3 airplanes but it is not a really efficient use of resources. Yep...

Re: Repositioning of BRU operations to other airports after attacks
Of course,
For SN, only OO-DWK and OO-SSU didn't move since the 22th.

Re: Re-opening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
I just looked up for FR, and these are the destinations with only 1 rotation/day: LCA, TSF, VRN, OPO, BTS, ALC, IBZ, PMI. So those could come back to BRU ASAP. Multiple rotation/day SXF, DUB, FCO, LIS, BCN, AGP, BNC So can we guess that the 8 "1 rotation/day" are going back to BRU ASAP whi...

Re: Re-opening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
Thinking about it, even if this looks fair, I'm not even sure this is really interesting for any airline running more than 1 rotation/day to a specific destination (it's true for FR, but also for SN in fact). If I was a airline I'd like to move traffic back to BRU destination by destination, here th...

Ah, right, with the arrivals being open, are they going to re-open the train station?

Re: Re-opening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
So, as an example FR would get +- 20 flights a day. I wonder if they would be interested in such an option. For instance they do operate BRU -> SXF 3 times a day. They could operate let's say the morning flight from BRU and the rest from CRL. Not sure this is really interesting, sean? Although I can...

I don't know, but LGG being just a "stop" to bring pax on would that be a problem?koja78 wrote:@mad_fab isn't there a law against these short intra-belgium flights?

Re: Re-opening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
I might be dreaming but, with the arrivals being OK, could SN for instance do something like this? (MAD is for the example) LGG -> MAD -> BRU -> LGG? In short: pick pax in LGG/ANR, go to destination, go to BRU, offload pax (final or connecting), pickup connecting passenger and then go to LGG to pick...

Good news for the arrivals!
On the other hand, arriving passengers will go through the usual baggage reclaim and arrivals in the terminal.

Re: Re-opening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
There will be no passenger flights into or out of Brussels Airport till Friday 1 April included. Our airport is technically ready to resume passenger flights. We are awaiting the decision of the proper authorities on a final date for a partial restart. https://twitter.com/BrusselsAirport/status/715...

Re: What is happening with Brussels Airlines?
Ok here's the experience for dropping people @ CRL and LGG this week end. CRL: Last Sunday @ 7:30 am (the flight was a 10:45) : At the roundabout the military ask the reason why you're there, then will redirect you to the parking 1 (I think). There you can park or just drop people and just leave. An...

Hum? Went to LGG and CRL and had a totally different experience! I was expecting the chaos and it was pretty well organized imho.flymd11 wrote:Hearing reports of people who have recently flown from CRL, I think a much better idea is to jump in the car and book a flight from CGN, DUS, EIN, HHN, or AMS.

Re: Re-opening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
First of all, they have been transformed into bigger and bigger shopping malls. It would be acceptable if pax who do not need or do not intend to buy anything were allowed to by-pass the shops. It used to be possible; the laws of consumerism have made it impossible; this is UNACCEPTABLE! Funny, few...

Re: Terror attacks: explosions in the departure hall of Brussels Airport!
As BAC has proven that commercial interests are more important than human life, I doubt they'll be willing to invest in this. That's a *very* heavy statement. Come on guys, let's try to avoid the knee-jerk reactions. You can't solve this problem with scanners everywhere. Let's say you manage to ful...

Re: Repositioning of BRU operations to other airports after attacks
OO-SFM and OO-SSG flew into BRU with SN9* callsigns, so those are just positioning flights, we had quite a lot of them since the 22, so nothing out of the ordinary.. yet!
