Re: Airplane models club or association in Oost-Vlaanderen ?
Hello everybody, Can anyone tell me there’s a club or association in O-Vlaanderen (Belgium ) for collectors of airplane models (NO paint & glue kits !!!) Thanks a lot…. :D [ admin luchtzak changed title, PS: double topic removed ] If you mean 'die cast models' like Herpa, Gemini etc. I don't th...

I have a lot of Herpa models (about 50) but unfortunately they are more and more difficult to find in Belgium. I used to go to Brussels and Ostende but all the shops closed, this is such a shame. I wish we had a aviation shop like the one I went to in Toronto, soooooo great but my wallet did not li...

Netmodels is what they call 'a pirate firm'. They produce unlicenced material. It may be hard to find in Belgium. If you know that even Gimini Jets is difficult to find, Netmodels might be impossible. Ordering may be very difficult for they have no regular output. Honest bids me to tell that the qua...

If you are looking for models and the firm that made them or if they are still available... then check the database on www.wings900.com. Not a chop, but THE reference if you want to know stuff about AC-models.
If it isn't in their database, it doesn't exist.
Just take a look.

Shop for civil airline models are hard to find in Belgium. For some years i ordered my Herpa stuff in Aalst (Modelbouw), they even give a discount-card of 5%. However i noticed that even the pre-ordered stuff was available for months in Holland or Germany before they had them in stock. So now i orde...

The future of a small airline, operating from a congested base that is constantly suffocated by politics (night flights and growth), surrounded by a few very big and powerfull alliances has indeed very few chances to stay in the race, unless, they become a niche carrier.. Furthermore, i wouldn't rea...

I'll be flying IB on a trip to Buenos Aeres in February. Took me some time before i decided for IB over other airlines (reading this thread), but i think the price issue is also very important. Departing from Brussels the connection is about 500Euro cheaper on IB then on Lufthansa. Air France only c...

About the DC-10 incident: lots of highly qualified captains, instructors and chief pilots tried to refly the stricken flight of the DC-10 in simulators afterwards. Not one of them got as far as the real crew did. They did have a flight engineer on board though.... Then there is one factor that no si...

Recently we've been handling Lufthansa flights flown by Swiss Embraers. Shame they're getting rid of them. I also heard people from LH saying Swiss will get a new name. Anyone has more info? 'Air Cuckoo' perhaps? Those birds also lay their eggs in another birds nest to take profit of em..... Sorry,...

The true value of alliences lies in the versatility of the worldwide members. These arab airlines more or less seem like competing airlines to me. I think Arabesk will not be into 'making traveling easy' but rather into 'price-regulation'. I think Royal Jordanian has more to gain from a membership o...

I challenge anybody to find a suitable route over crowded and densely populated Belgium where you will not cause any noiseproblems! There is also no way of comparing the 'quartet' Brussels, Liège, Ostend and Antwerp with Stansted-Heathrow and Luton or CDG and Orly! Dispersing flights over these airp...

Just a little addition to the shop in Aalst: Order first! They take preorders and even give you a call when your planes 'have landed'. Since a few months they don't take in too much stock anymore. Big advantage in Aalst over the internet-stuff: if you don't like the plane when you see it.. you don't...

I bought the book last weekend at Makro, at 23€. It is indeed a very pourly translated dutch that we find there. Mr. Pacco says he wrote the book in dutch and french... but i'm sure that most of the dutch text was translated from french by a machine or by someone who doesn't speak dutch at all. In s...
