The 1st of june SN will add a 3rd daily flight to CDG. The flight will depart from BRU at 9AM.
Will it be SN metal ?

Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
Apparently yes, an SN A319 (in addition to the two existing A320s).nordikcam wrote:The 1st of june SN will add a 3rd daily flight to CDG. The flight will depart from BRU at 9AM.

But the Thalys from BRU to Paris-Nord seems to have disappeared, which could explain the need for more air traffic.

Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
And on top off that there is also a change in schedule as such CDG will become a nightstop for crews making the first flight out of CDG will be SN3628 STD 06.50 local STA07.45 local and SN3629 will be the 9 AM flight from BRU
Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
And on what time will arrive this A319 at CDG for nightstop ? Who will be on board ?
Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
According our pairings crews will take SN3629 to CDG and get off there however no way that the A/C stays there after that flight so my guess is that only Cabin Crew will start their nightstop after the SN3629 and cockpit crew joins after positioning the aircraft in the evening.
Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
Night stop in Paris!!! Yeahhh
Well let's calm down
I guess the crew of the last outbound flight will stay in CDG after the last flight. And take over the last morning flight while the crew of the first outbound flight will have a mini day stop and take over the third morning flight inbound. So that's make that operationally we can have 3 morning flight with a stop for the crew
Beside this I don't undertand why this is not every body witch can use this flight, why only the long haul passenger, there are many pax from Berlin, Warsaw or Madrid which could go to Paris with us too no?

Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
There are even double nightstop Paris flight pairings!!!
now most ones will go on SN3629 so the 9 AM flight from Brussels as last stretch of a mission (if the flight pairings stay as they are published now) so it's not the last flight of the day
However what I guess is that only cabin crew gets off after that flight since they can't just leave an A/C standing there for an entire day thus making a positioning flight necessary.
Concerning other pax they can book flights from anywhere to CDG (just tested it)

Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
Yes indeed it's bookable, last year they were even offering cheap return flights for some time (88€ iirc), but since that it's always more expensive.
Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
Then why don't we have a proper sheduled, I mean having as well an evening flight for the business people
Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
I think demand for that evening flight is too low... the main load on the CDG flight are pax connecting to/from the African network in BRU which is concentrated in the morning rather than pax from another EU flight
Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
Indeed, the only point of these CDG-BRU flights are transfer pax. With Thalys, there really is no need for a proper OD-focussed schedule.
Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
To clarify the above discussion, here is the schedule:
Code: Select all
SN3631 BRU 06:35 – 07:30 CDG 320 D
SN3629 BRU 09:00 – 09:55 CDG 319 D
SN3633 BRU 10:25 – 11:25 CDG 320 D
SN3628 CDG 06:50 – 07:45 BRU 319 D
SN3632 CDG 08:30 – 09:25 BRU 320 D
SN3634 CDG 12:25 – 13:15 BRU 320 D

Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
Yes of course pax transfer but they must be many pax willing to fly from/to Paris to/from Moscow/Tel Aviv or anywhere in Europe. And we operate flight the whole day to those European destination. That make that a french business man willing to go on a meeting in Stockholm and want to go home later during the could use Brussels Airlines for his business trip in Europe.
we could have for example 3 A319 in the morning and 1 A319 in the evening, it will be operationally easier the layover of the crew, they could even do a "pijama stop" (they take over the next day the same aircraft they flown the day before with a minimum rest) witch make that only one crew would be on layover and not two, so cheaper for SN as they must take less rooms in the hotel etc... also it would bring some new pax.

Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
I don't get this scheduled, it look like the 2 A320 do a normal flight up and down, but what about the A319, it stay the night in CDG and fly very early to Brussels go back to paris at 9.55 and then? Club Med charter flight?sn26567 wrote:To clarify the above discussion, here is the schedule:

Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
I think we forget something here. As far as I remember, SN sometimes operates charter flights for e.g. Club Med out of Paris as well. Might they use this time in Paris to operate daily charters (extended contract?)? In that case this schedule even saves them positioning flights rather than needing extra ones. It would make complete sense.
Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
That's my guess as well André! However club med is usually done on 320 so perhaps on days that a club med charter is flown they swap the 319 for that particular 320 eliminating a positioning flight but a daily charter seems a bit too optimistic to be honest
Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
Unless they extended the contract. Smaller aircraft, but slightly higher frequency and more destinations. Even 3-4-5 weekly charters would already make much more sense than having 2 daily positioning flights.Avroflyer wrote:That's my guess as well André! Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
up until now I didn't hear anything about more charters from CDG but it would make more sense indeed
Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
From Marseille, Toulouse and Rouen we already operate a few charter for some tour operator like Fram, Corsica Tour and of course club med, so with already 3 tour operator maybe it will be possible to fly a daily charter flight.
