Great drawing Bart. The Fokker 50 is one of my favourite aircraft to fly in, the views are superb because the engine is narrow and doesn't obstruct the view as much as the Avro RJ engine does.
Some airlines tether the prop blades of their Fokker 50s whilst they are parked, I saw this in Iceland as a matter of course, but never at London City.

They fasten the end of the prop blade to the wing until the engines are ready to be started up. I have a photo showing one with a tethered blade but I would have to scan it and then upload it if you wanted to see what I mean.EBAW_flyer wrote:What's tether? Some airlines tether the prop blades
(In English "tether" means to "fasten something down").

This photo shows what I mean. If you look on the bottom blade, you can see an orange coloured "cap" at the end of the blade. This is on the end of a rope which is attached to the underside of the engine. When the engine is ready to be started up, the cap is removed from the blade and the props start up as normal.
