Is the Antwerp runway long enough to host a fully loaded BAe 146?

Hi,

@ sn26567
No dates were announced yet.

@ danieln
Just after the bankruptcy of Sabena, all Crossair flights were diverted to Antwerp including some BAe 146's.

I'm not the photographer Robin. This picture was used for the news coverage of an event. I think Sabena, City Bird and Virgin organised some flights for handicaped children that day.

Can someone provide us a picture of that airline :?: I've never heard of it in the past and would really like to see their logo.

As for the flights to Antwerp: It would be great but I would rather wait and see before being too happy :?

Yes, Sabena did operate a 732 between LHR and ANR.
Sabena and Sobelair - gone but never forgotten.

And I have a funny story about it. I got once a free extension BRU-LHR-ANR as a complement to a BRU-JFK-BRU ticket. The final destination could not be BRU, as IATA rules allowed for a 10 or 20% extension of your trip as long as you did not go three times to the same place.

Thus, on a nice December Friday, I went for that free shopping trip to London (Ryanair did not invent free trips) with a Sabena 73S, spent a nice day there and came back to ANR with another Sabena 73S. On Friday night only, that plane went back to BRU. Hence, I jumped out of the plane, bought a ticket from ANR to BRU at the airport, and back into the plane.

My wife and I were the only passengers, together with three stewardesses, for the shortest flight of my life: 40 km in 20 minutes at FL60.

When did those flights stop? When they introduced the Airbusses? I assume they can't land in Antwerp!

Another new carrier comming to Antwerp:

Connect will be a clear focussed airline: Regional traffic from Basel. With 3 ATR-42-500 they will start flying morning and evening services to London-City, Antwerp, Vienna, Dusseldorf and Amsterdam. Their rotations around noon and in the afternoon will go to Bordeaux, Bilbao, Pula (Slovenia), Venice, Florence, Pescara, Olbia and Prague.

Remember the SN flights from ANR to Geneva, operated by VLM?

Why would ANR to Basle be more successful?
