Things don't look any better in 2017: Turkish Airlines reports January 2017 RPKs down 10.0%, ASKs down 8.7%, PLF down 1.1 points to 73.8%, and passenger numbers down 12.0% to 4.7 million.

In brief, Turkish Airlines reports 2016 net loss of US$77 million, revenues of $9.7 billion, and cash and cash equivalents of $1.4 billion.
Turkish Airlines will be operating 40 fewer aircraft by 2020 than previously intended due to fleet restructuring. Carrier is expected to operate 369 aircraft by 2020, with narrow-bodies taking the biggest hit.

Turkish Airlines chairman Ilker Ayci said the carrier will post a “moderate” increase in passenger numbers during 2017, and “from 2018 onwards, we will be seeing our historical growth rates”.

Trabzon-El Kassim (Saudi Arabia) twice a week flights will start on 21.June.2017.
Antalya-Amman (Jordan) twice a week flights will start on 16.June.2017.

Turkish Airlines is keen to ramp up its new Istanbul – Phuket flights to a daily basis from four flights a week by 2018, if it can obtain more favourable landing and take-off slots at Phuket.

THY Crew Training team has trained 77 RwandAir crew for A330 services as part of refreshment course. Back in March another team has trained 51 crew member.

Turkey is about to enter 10 day holiday period and THY is expecting to break a record today: 1545 flights and quarter million pax only today will be flying with THY. They are urging pax to arrive at least 2-3 hours early.
