Austrian Airlines may soon launch flights with the Boeing 787 Dreamliners, says Lufthansa Group CEO Carsten Spohr.

Re: Austrian Airlines in 2023
Well, the Swiss aviation site says something different.
LH is looking for further compensation for 779 delivery delays and is keen to order additional 789 to be allocated to Austrian. Thus very likely that we'll hear some official news somewhere Mid May, traditionally between the Supervisory Board Meeting and the Annual General Meeting.
Re: Austrian Airlines in 2023
Regarding the google lufthansa group fleet website, Austrian seems to phase in 9 boeing 787-900 as a replacement for 767-300 and 777-200

Re: Austrian Airlines in 2023
Currently that is even less than a rumor. I doubt that LH will allocate 9 of its new 789 to OS - Spohr never liked OS, even less so as a longhaul competitor within the LH group. There is a scenario that some 789 might come in to replace the oldest longhaul a/c (the 763 subfleet), while the 772 will continue to fly for the upcoming years. But as said before: rumor and theories - we might know more in May.

1 A320ceo (ex-Lufthansa) and 1 A320neo to join the fleet. On top of the 10 Boeing 787-900 wich was at then much more than a rumor.

Austrian Airlines seems to get 6 A321neo as replacement of their (very) old A321ceo

Re: Austrian Airlines in 2023
If Austrian gets A321neos, why can't Brussels Airlines also get a few A321s, NEO or CEO, which could certainly be used on some busy routes. Sabena was also flying A321s.crew1990 wrote: ↑14 Nov 2023, 22:04 Austrian Airlines seems to get 6 A321neo as replacement of their (very) old A321ceo

It's actually logical that Austrian need to replace their A321ceo fleet some of them are around 28 years old! None of Brussels Airlines aircraft ever reached this age...
In the case of Brussels Airlines, I'm confident we will get some at some point. Thing are moving fast and going to a greener fleet is one of the priority.

Yes, they even stayed 2 years in the fleet, then Sabena went bankrupt...
