Hard to believe this indeed... installing wifi can't be that difficult or expensive? and passengers are surely willing to pay for this extra service...
Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Everything on an aircraft is expensive! It’ll be at least 250.000€ to install, increase maintenance and cause an extra fuel burn of 1%. Impossible to make a profit on it, Ryan and EZY would have it if it was marginally profitable.
What surprises me is that the beancounters are too afraid to just admit it’s cost saving and are inventing fairy tales which, some, employees seem happy to believe…
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Suffices to look at the LH A32F aircraft, they all seem to have the huge SATCOM antenna.
I bet that it's much more than 1% additional fuel burn.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Have you done the calculations on that, or is it just a guess?
People who have done the calculations don’t seem to agree with your statements that it’s “much more” than 1%.

Will the eagle land tonight or tomorrow?HQ_BRU_Lover wrote: ↑26 Sep 2023, 17:18 Do we have more info on the NEO's, f.e. the delivery date of the first one @ BRU?
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
SN pilots made a test flight last Friday in Toulouse, and the conclusion was that there are still issues to be solved before final delivery.Boeing767copilot wrote: ↑04 Oct 2023, 16:53Will the eagle land tonight or tomorrow?HQ_BRU_Lover wrote: ↑26 Sep 2023, 17:18 Do we have more info on the NEO's, f.e. the delivery date of the first one @ BRU?

This time the eagle is ready to fly to his homebase.

Hopefully it will not be the reverse of a saying of a steward some 20 years ago on an SN Avro RJ: "It looks like a chicken, but flies like an eagle".

It seems to be located on a remote platform, not at the Delivery Center. I guess if we spot it moving there, chances are that’ll be an indication the flight to BRU will occur soon-ish.

OO-SFB is indeed being paint
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
What motivated the choice to paint the plane in Manchester...the previous one had been painted in Chateauroux, I think...in 2 weeks...? Good to see disappear the Eurowing's livery ...the first one !

... or another test flight like last Friday before the final acceptance.

Almost 2 weeks further now, any updates? Seems to take forever (which is NOT meant negative, just curious to see the birds passing by my desk @ Brussels Airport).

Checked FlightRadar24 and it made a test flight 16/10, seems now ready to do some testings as well.HQ_BRU_Lover wrote: ↑19 Oct 2023, 12:57 Almost 2 weeks further now, any updates? Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Does anyone know the return date of OO-SFB? Already 3.5 weeks have passed, and no news about it.
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
If I am not wrong it is maintenance and not painting, so it will rather take 2 months or so, no?
