Re: News from THY - Turkish Airlines
Turkish Airlines plans to carve out subsidiary AnadoluJet into a standalone company, resulting in a future stake sale, listing or another fund-raising move. Plans for a similar separation of the THY cargo operation have been slowed, as a spinoff would deliver only a “marginal contribution.”

Re: News from THY - Turkish Airlines
A Turkish Airlines delegation visited Burundi in March 2023, for future flights between Istanbul and Bujumbura.
The company had planned to serve Burundi in 2015, but it never happened. https://isanganiro-org.translate.goog/2 ... 534265.htm
In my opinion if TK serves BJM, the flights it will be a tag service. TK operates up to one daily flight on on its routes to Sub-Saharan Africa, so I don't see that they will add flights to Entebbe in Uganda (ex: 10 flights per week, 3 of which would be operated via Bujumbura).
Porbabbly some flights to BJM will be operated via Kigali because Entebbe can in my opinion largely fill Turkish Airlines planes without a tag service. This is the case of Air Arabia, Emirates or Qatar Airways which serve EBB without tag service
Currently Istanbul-Kigali-Entebbe-Istanbul once a day
It could be like this. In all cases Entebbe keep daily service with TK either via BJM, KGL or without a tag.
Istanbul-Bujumbura-Kigali-Istanbul 2 or 3 times a week
Istanbul-Kigali-Entebbe-IST (4 or 5 times a week, in case if the 2 or 3 flights per week to Kigali are operated via BJM)
Istanbul-Entebbe-IST (4-5 times per week, if the 2-3 flights per week on BJM are operated via Kigali)
Or Kigali can be served on certain days without the tag via Entebbe (days when BJM will be served via BJM). Currently excluding RwandAir, only Ethiopian Airlines (2 flights per day) and Kenya Airways (up to 3 flights per day depending on the time of year) serve KGL without tag service. Even if ETH rarely operates flights to KGL via BJM.
Bujumbura appears on the Turkish Airlines website but impossible to make a reservation. RwandAir Kigali Bujumbura flights are operated in code share with Turkish Airlines (TK8400/01 https://www.google.com/search?client=fi ... 400+%2F+01)
A Delegation from the Airline, Turkish Airlines, accompanied by the Chargé d'Affaires of the Turkish Diplomatic Mission in Burundi, paid a working visit this Thursday, March 16, 2023 to the Civil Aviation Authority of Burundi (A.A.C.B).
