Since May HiFly Malta is operating flights between TLS and XFW. This year they also acquired 3 A319's (probably for this service between the Airbus-plants) they have registered them as 9H-XFW, 9H-TLS and 9H-LOL

XFW and LOL are ex Germania AG. LOL came to BRU in May I think.

Flypop : They have their HQ at Stansted. They would like to fly to India maybe later this year.
Arctic Airways : From Greenland, they would like to fly to Europe at least maybe using Airbus A320 family. An announcement is coming soon.

Both Argentina and Uruguay are suffering problems in their electricity networks, along with parts of Brasil and Paraguay. An estimated 48 million people have no electricity. Has anyone an idea in how far this causes problems for airports in these countries? Or do they have back-ups?

The AIP is supposed to mention that for each individual aerodrome. Here in BE I know that EBAW Antwerp has its own emergency generator, so one can expect them at similar-sized airports. Question is: how long will the fuel last? That's what the AIP does not say.

Report Aviation Herald:Runway damage at Budapest Airport causes flight delays on Wednesday evening.
Passengers traveling through Budapest Airport are currently (Wednesday, 19 June) facing flight delays. According to an online tweet by Konsiczky Zoltán, there has been damage on one of the two runways (the other runway is decommissioned for works). A repair that will take about one hour, until 20:00 (UTC +2).
According to information, gathered by Aviation24.be, a concrete block damaged a Wizz Air Airbus A321neo (HA-LVB) upon landing from Stockholm Skavsta Airport as flight W62404.
Shaun Walker went to Twitter to complain: “Utter chaos at Budapest Airport. Every flight delayed, no announcements, departure boards not working, people unclear if their flights have gone or not…“. Matthew Vins says: “Ryanair what’s going on at Budapest Airport? Mile long check in and, after 45 mins, noone is now being let through?“

Last Saturday, there was a computer failure at the luggage system at AMS Schiphol Airport, causing a pile up with thousands of bagages stuck at the airport. Comment from KLM: "euh, yes, there was kind of a problem". Comment from AMS Airport: "no comment". As a result, press coverage was minimal.

Much simpler and more efficient would be to reduce or even remove the VAT exemption on airliner fuel.

The idea is to create some budget to invest in new technologies or other ways to travel (less carbon pollutant) if I understood well.

I'm not into bashing people that try something, but minister De Rugy looks like he doesn't know anything (not saying I'm an expert, but a bit commonsense and research) about aviation, and ecology neither...
He says "airlines will have to invest in newer aircrafts that consume less kerosene", thank you sir! They didn't wait for you to that. Not for ecology purpose but mainly because it reduces costs. He implies that airlines fly 30-years-old aircrafts! And increasing costs with this tax certainly won't help them to invest...
He also states that "airlines should use more biofuel"... Ok, just where do this biofuel come from? Oh yes, Brazil, Malaysia, Indonesia,... countries where hectares are deforested to grow palm. Of course with a massive use of pesticides which isn't very eco-friendly, is it? Let's not forget that biofuel rejects as much CO2 as kerosene does (even more actually).
Taxing kerosene on an EU-level will just kill the airlines... Imagine a FRA-SIN flight, a direct flight will be taxed on the whole fuel it takes, and via IST, the FRA-IST segment will be taxed but the IST-SIN won't... How can European airlines be competitive with that? Just look at how many airlines died because of rising fuel costs...
When will a Minister of Ecology actually be an expert? Not a journalist like Hulot, or an ordinary political man like De Rugy...

The announcement of the aviation tax has caused a firm drop for the value of the Air France/KLM shares. For shareholder France, that value drop means they have lost lost some 25M €.
