Re: Cancelled services and discontinued routes in 2018
Yes but I flew BA a couple of times in the last year and they where always empty but empty I mean in the last flight with a 787-9 we where 25 passengers!!!!
They are always very expensive I don't now why.
But Star Alliance is very strong in Angola you have TAAG and the AF/KL group and Star with ET,SAA,LH,SN and TAP.
But Brussels airlines just cut a flight also from 3 to 2 and they take approximately 60 to 70 passengers per flight via Kinshasa.
In fact the numbers are not good for SN because they where one of the first to fly to Luanda(SABENA) but they didn't grow in 20 years!
They even do less passengers than in the 90s(they where flying with the 747) when they was a civil war going on.
Anyway in Angola SABENA or Brussels Airlines it's the same here.
Hasta la victoria siempre.

Re: Cancelled services and discontinued routes in 2018
It has been reported elsewhere that, even before the first flight, Brussels Airlines is cancelling Sharm el-Sheikh flights due to security reasons (while TUI Airlines Belgium is maintaining its own flights).
The Embassy of Egypt is surprised by this decision. It says that nothing has changed in the Sharm el-Sheikh region since months. This is confirmed by the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is advising not to visit the Sinai, except the hotel area in Sharm el-Sheikh considered as safe.
Are there other reasons behind the decision of Brussels Airlines?

Hi,
Please remember the bomb of the russian plane from
SSH, I say wise decision from SN/LH/EW...
Tui is only thinking of money now this high season...
With real thoughts ,.. I don't know any person with reason which would opt nowadays to go on a cheap holiday to a muslim country !
Turkey supporting dictator Erdogan, Egypt security which let a bomb pass on a russian plane, Tunesia killings from a boat , Morocco with the biggest control of all,..
But once a year lot of tourists set their own believes, reasons away for some cheap sun !
Okay for me but stop blaming people who don't go in this stupid behavior...
IMHO
Try Macedonia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania for once ( even Crimea is safer if you get there haha )

I don't really like your generalisation of "muslim countries". Even though I'm not religious at all I don't get why you should sterotype these countries.cathay belgium wrote: ↑10 Jun 2018, 22:13

The examples that you have given, the Russian plane, the boats, ... are already years ago.
So you think no one should visit Belgium or France either? There have been attacks very recently (Liège).
I was in Egypt in February. It was a nice holiday. Did not feel unsafe. Did not stay in my hotel. I went to see the country. And yes, it was cheap, very cheap. But I did not put my so called principles aside for that cheap price.
Maybe you should go and explore them once

Hi,
Been in all countries mentioned and not once... So been there done that and I don't like them that much , will return to egypt maybe but in another era
Everybody decides for themselves but I just won't take the risk anymore, if I want to go cheap there are other and much better safer destinations, maybe the reasons I mentioned were months years ago but we are still in the same time moment nowadays...
Just say you decide to go so SN can decide not to go without the need of remarks about this decisions... Is it wise ... I think so...
Everybody can choose no

If you didn't like them then for some reason don't generalize them for another and stay quiet.

I'm completely agree with you that you can't generalise etc....brabel wrote: ↑11 Jun 2018, 17:42I don't really like your generalisation of "muslim countries". Even though I'm not religious at all I don't get why you should sterotype these countries.cathay belgium wrote: ↑10 Jun 2018, 22:13

But there is a severe problem in the Sinai that you can't deny is very serious.
There was an attack in November 2017 with more than 300 dead and the Islamic Muslim organisations is very strong in the Sinai and out of control.
So please don't compare this situation with Belgium here!
I think it's very wise to stop these flights but I'm sure they have more information than we have.
It's easy to corrupt someone at Sharm El Shaik to put somthing in a plane.
Hasta la victoria siempre.
