Since MBX airport and VLM Airlines belong to the same owners, it is the lack of marketing efforts by these owners that could explain those poor results.Haplek wrote: I do not know how many passengers fly vetween MBX and ANR. However I know that MBX Airport does hardly something to promote those flights. Sometimes they post or repist VLM's posts on Facebook. And thats all. Sadly.

It looks more like a re-election campaign of the Mayor of Antwerp for the upcoming municipal elections

Well , if that also leads to extra promotion for VLM it's OK, I would think.Post

In any case ,it looks like the 'old' ANR-LCY route is the one generating the operational profit for VLM and supporting the other current and coming routes.
Re: VLM Airlines Regional (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018
VLM Airlines loaded their winterschedule in the booking tool.
'Except connecting flights'. Curious to see what they mean with this and what 'connecting flights' they will offer eventually.
A few things I noted thusfar:
- afternoon flight to/fm ZRH on sundays
- Sunday-flight to ANR fm MUC? ANR-MUC still to be loaded?
- reduced schedule (3 iso 7 flts - wed,Sat,Sun) between OST-MAN. This allows morning flts from MAN to Antwerp on mon, tue, thur, fri.
- No flights to/fm Maribor/Rostock and ABZ-BHX after 27 oct? (or still to be loaded as 'connecting flight' ?)

oo-vlz made a test flight today
Re: VLM Airlines Regional (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018
There are no flights between MUC and MBX in the winter schedule. Seems like that VLM gave up on the route... or do you think that they are not yet finished with scheduling for these flights?
By the way... keep in mind that SHS pays 95 000 € rent per month for MBX airport concession... God knows where that money comes from...

This article says that SHS Aviation has sold it's shareholding in Maribor airport. So is SHS now only concentrating on the Antwerp operations? We all know they sold VLM Brussels some months ago as well.

Aerodrom Maribor, which operates Maribor airport, ended 2017 with a loss of over 1.7 million euro, after its loss amounted to 35,000 euro the year before. Revenue edged up to 705,000 euro.
Re: VLM Airlines Regional (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018
"Google translate"-translation of Slovenian article about change of ownership Maribor Airport:
SHS Aviation, which is the tenant of Maribor Airport through Aerodrom Maribor, has a new owner since the end of March. According to the website of Ajpes, the share of the Dutch company SHS Aviation BV was taken over by Villa 1, which is owned by the Chinese co-director of the Maribor Airport Lingkun Menga. SHS Aviation is also the owner of SHS Villa Mari, which manages apartment houses near Pohorje, while majority owner owns RTS Media, which issues a free-of-charge and broadcasts the same-name television program in Maribor. According to the newspaper Večer, Lingkun Meng is a younger member of the Meng family, which has more companies in China, but his uncle is most influential. In Slovenia, they are building a residential neighborhood - probably for future Chinese workers at the Maribor airport - right next to the motorway in the municipality of Rače-Fram. Cooperation with China? The daily adds that the question arises as to how the ownership changes will affect the cooperation with the airline VLM Airlines, which, according to the new one, no longer has a common owner with Aerodrom Maribor, and therefore probably does not need and wish to fly from Maribor. They will probably try to link to China, and for direct intercontinental flights from Maribor to China, they will need to extend the Maribor route from 2500 meters to at least 3200, and to change the national spatial plan, which is unlikely to be confirmed by the end of the year writes the Dinner website
Looks like SHS Aviation Antwerp has no links anymore with Maribor Airport. This may probably also explain gradual decrease of VLM flights Maribor --> Munich?

I highly recommend that everybody reads that fascinating and well-documented article (or a Google translation into your favourite language). It tells a lot about the seriousness of the airline with regard to Slovenia and reminds of the pedigree of Harm Prins who was one of the initial investors in both SHS Aviation and Maribor airport. Enjoy!Haplek wrote: ↑29 May 2018, 11:38 Very interesting analysis written by aviation analyst Alen Šćuric for Serbian aviation forum. Help yourselves with google translate

Thank you for the recommendation André. I had the opportunity to meet Mister Šćuric once. He is by far the best aviation analyst in my opinion. He always writes his analysis/articles based on the facts and adds personal/subjective opinion. His forecasts what will happen in regard to one topic (for instance what he said one year ago about Maribor and SHS Aviation a year ago) are almost always right due to his knowledge, logical thinking and experience in aviation. His column of analysis/articles is posted every Tuesday on tangosix.rs forum. I read it already for few years and i am still waiting with happy expectation on every Tuesday. Feel invited to read his articles even if they do not have much to do with aviation in Belgium. Some interesting articles that from the past that might interest you (topics without regional relevance):sn26567 wrote: ↑29 May 2018, 18:51I highly recommend that everybody reads that fascinating and well-documented article (or a Google translation into your favourite language). I know that it looks like an advertisement for his work, but I must say that I really respect his work. Therefore I believe that it might be very interesting for other aviation enthusiasts aswell.

Re: VLM Airlines Regional (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018
As far my information is correct: the investment company behind SHS Aviation Antwerp (VLM Airlines Regional) would be Cofilux Invest SA, based in Windhof (Luxembourg) and owned by Mr. Marc Vanhellemont. Anybody who can confirm?
Re: VLM Airlines Regional (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018
and today a 'first' revenue flight ANR-ZRH-ANR
Re: VLM Airlines Regional (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018
Hi everyone.
Does anyone know how the VLM OST-MAN route is selling?
Kind of curious, because there’s a lack of advertising in the neighbourhood.
Could be a good thing to place an add next to the highway E40 near Jabbeke & Bruges.
