Going to CPH I think... maybe
Aircraft ES-ACJ is still at Copenhagen, so most probably it was a divertion for a technical issue:

Not a good week for flights to BRU... SK4743 OSL to BRU squawk 7700 and diverting to AMS.
He was almost half way between AMS and BRU so must have been pretty urgent...

Smoke in cabin

- 16:58: edited, smoke was in cabin instead of cockpit (Thanks passenger for the correction)

Actually it was smoke in the cabin when they were south-east of Rotterdam, and descending through FL150.

Yesterday 30 May, 767 delta and 2 A330 from SN were sitting on the tarmac at BRU around 8 pm. Anybody know why?

Thanks

Ps - am I the only one to think the airport is deserted in the evenings. Not that many planes...

The airport might be deserted at 8 pm, but it is no longer deserted at 11 pm. 😀

EBAW: as of today twy B closed due to surface condition problems. All a/c have to backtrack (depending on rwy in use, either before t/o or after landing). It took them more than 6 months to start repairs on 1/3rd of the approach lights rwy 29 that were u/s, so hopefully this twy problem will be fixed a lot sooner....

Railway traffic between Leuven/Louvain and Brussels Airport is back on schedule after more then a week of interruption (thus no stopover anymore at Brussels-Noord/Bruxelles-Noord)

Strange! There is little difference in distance and the weather looked nice at both airports. Any reason for the diversion?

As the flights was heavily delayed, it is most likely to prevent higher landing fees due to the late arrival time. Not sure if Düsseldorf is even open for landings after 24.00

By memory: DUS closes at 2200, but accepts delayed flights till 2300.
EW would not divert to avoid higher landing fees as EU261 would cost them even more.

Next Sunday and weather permitting runway 25R will be closed for landings between 09:00 and 17:00 as they will perform a massive rabbit hunt. Awaiting confirmation.

The BRU (Brussels Rabbits Union) thanks for the advance notice. Rabbits will temporarily move onto runway 25L and 01.
