Bull is too soft for the mess that De Croo jr. (federal minister of Development) caused on the diplomatic scene there. Elephant really is the right word.
Re: Air Belgium in 2018
Air Belgium is promoting its flights to Hong Kong. I have seen ads on this forum and some other sites as well. Seems that they realised that they need to do something to get some extra passengers.

The ones I know probably avoid to confront the authorities, so they might prefer not to go public. No idea if the major airlines are affected.jan_olieslagers wrote: ↑02 May 2018, 17:39 Thank you. But I concur with @Passenger: who then are (some of) the others?
Re: Air Belgium in 2018
Both planes departed CRL today, one of them wear a TB flight number. Any idea of the place they're going?
Re: Air Belgium in 2018
ABA stays in BRU for maintenance.
ABB to AGA for TUI.
ABB to AGA for TUI.
Re: Air Belgium in 2018
Would you book with an airline that still does not fulfill all conditions to start flying ?

Re: Air Belgium in 2018
An advantage Air Belgium has towards Cathay (and Hainan) is that EU-Rule 261/2004 applies for both CRL-HKG and HKG-CRL. Whilst for Cathay, EU-Rule 261/2004 only applies for their outgoing flight (= out of Belgium). And not for HKG-BRU.
And with the ongoing problems, payment of the ticket by credit card is a must-do. When things would go wrong, one can apply a credit card dispute (the C-Form) to reclaim payment for a non-delivered service.

Re: Air Belgium in 2018
Are they flying full load, or are they pricing it like a B737 or equivalent (+- 180 pax) ?Passenger wrote: ↑04 May 2018, 13:04And Malaga ànd Chania, also for TUI:

Re: Air Belgium in 2018
ACMI is changed per hour or per flight, independent of the load.Nevihta wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 13:27Are they flying full load, or are they pricing it like a B737 or equivalent (+- 180 pax) ?Passenger wrote: ↑04 May 2018, 13:04And Malaga ànd Chania, also for TUI:

It is probably cheaper for TUI to pay the 340 than paying the EU compensation for cancelled flight.

Spotted both OO-ABA and OO-ABB today at Brussels Airport

I only saw 1 Air Belgium (OO-ABA), obviously with a broken engine
Re: Air Belgium in 2018
What I mean is TUI probably needed something like a B737 or A320, so is Air Belgium pricing it like so, or is it priced like an A340 and TUI could use the extra capacity ?Poiu wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 15:29ACMI is changed per hour or per flight, independent of the load.Nevihta wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 13:27Are they flying full load, or are they pricing it like a B737 or equivalent (+- 180 pax) ?Passenger wrote: ↑04 May 2018, 13:04

Re: Air Belgium in 2018
TUI has to pay for the whole aircraft, they can use 1 seat or all of them, it won’t change the price.Nevihta wrote: ↑06 May 2018, 20:36What I mean is TUI probably needed something like a B737 or A320, so is Air Belgium pricing it like so, or is it priced like an A340 and TUI could use the extra capacity ?
AB on the other can’t use the seats, even if the remain empty (eg staff travel).
