Seems like a very interesting observation flight indeed. Could you post a link to sources if there any online?
Few years ago I was able to witness a total solar eclips in Turkey and it was an extraordinary experience... We had a bit of luck with weather though...(beautiful day & blue skies during the solar eclips, overcast the day after).

Here's a pic I made back then. Would be nice to make another one from within an aircraft

There's talk of a pilots' meet-up in Praha in May, I hope to fly to either LKLT Letnany or LKBE Benešov or both if the weather is ok. And another meetup is being considered at San Nicolo LIPV, a fabulous place! But it's a long way for a microlight from EBZH.

Perhaps I will make it to the French homebuilders' meeting in Vichy this year, flying - had to drive every year, up till now, for various reasons.

Plus of course a fair number of "circles around the village spire", the occasional 50 € burger run (100 € is for PPL flyers!) and last but not least EBDT Schaffen mid-August.
