Re: Social actions at air navigation service provider skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions
Far be it from me to speak in the name of anyone else, atc staff least of all; but I can see only winners here. On the short term some might seem to be loosing, but on the long term there is a gain of clarity and that means stabilty: people will be less excited, less annoyed, less stressy. Which mig...

Re: Trivia 2019 (miscellaneous news)
I should think that wake turbulence is the main concern, especially from a 747? But I also like to think that the pilots know what they are doing. Accidentally, I saw something similar happen at Antwerp airport yesterday: a PA28 started its take-off roll while a DA-42 was on short final. I estimate ...

Re: Boeing 737 (MAX) news
And what does that say about actually having sat in one?
Also, I for one WOULD hesitate to enter one - but then, I must admit I am not in a hurry to enter any airliner as a passenger. There are better ways to enjoy aviation, for me at least.

With all respect and sympathy for your obvious annoyance, but what difference would it make whether one has or hasn't ever been seated somewhere back in the tube?Have you flown in the 737-200 or classic?

Re: Blue Skies forever
Hm, not so nice to see a "V1" look-alike. Wasn't this artist from Antwerp? That city suffered grievously from them, exactly 70 years ago. My mother's father was among the victims. But of course, such an "artist" has a certain degree of liberty/artistic freedom. I rather liked the...

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
I fondly remember the twice-daily Sabena flights between ANR and LHR by Boeing 732. I even remember having flown on one of them: on Friday nights the aircraft was flying back to BRU and I flew LHR-ANR-BRU. On the last leg I was the only passenger Hehe, I have a vague memory of a similar experience ...

Re: Cruise speed vs top of descent
The trick is not to allow pilots to choose their speed  WHAAhahahaha! Could a modern aircraft fly a track, just as easily? I cannot speak about modern planes, but from a programmer's point of view it would be a lot easier. I have over and again insisted that, in the 21st century, magneti...

In brief: local government appoints new "president" (CEO?) at airport management company; said person has a past in one trade union but many (most?) people working at the airport belong to another union. His linguistical capacities are also questioned: he should have good Italian and Frenc...

Re: Trivia 2019 (miscellaneous news)
Thanks for info, @Rwandair. Particularly surprising to me to see South African Airways only fifth - surely they lost a lot of traffic, then, recently? Weren't they a major carrier at one time, perhaps even Africa's biggest?

Subsidies are not an investment (if I may be excused for "nitpicking" as some call it). They come on the operations side of the balance sheet; investments come on the active/passive pages.
"... plans to spend" might be better wording.
