Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks

If you think of how outdated the IT systems of police and justice are, it suddenly starts making sense. ;)
These are demands of people who still communicate through fax.

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks

Apparently there is a free shuttle bus between the airport and the Zaventem train station. It's nowhere advertised though. Needless to say that we did the walk (with a pram), which was not made easy because of the material left everywhere and the military and police roadblocks.

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks

I hope they re-establish the public transport links soon. I'm supposed to return to BRU on Tuesday, but as it looks now, we will be forced to walk to the Zaventem (the municipality, not the airport) train station to get out.

Re: Repositioning of BRU operations to other airports after attacks

I'm typing this, sitting on the floor at the gate of LGG. The situation at the check-in desks and security check is very chaotic, to say the least. Flights are called one by one, but nevertheless, people who's flight has not been called make it to the front of the queue.... My flight to Linate is 1,...

Re: Repositioning of BRU operations to other airports after attacks

When I checked it this morning (because I might have to use it tomorrow), the earliest bus from the National Bank was said to depart at 9:30.

Re: Repositioning of BRU operations to other airports after attacks

Looks like they changed the bus schedule to Liège again. First bus leaves as late as 14:30 from Brussels, which seriously reduces the usefulness of the service.

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective

I guess the main reason for not publishing details is rather that the majority share of SN is privately held. In contrast to most European airlines, they're not listed on any stock market or completely owned by a company that is.

Ik weet niet of ik wel helemaal snap waar sean het over heeft. Bedoel je daarmee dat Andre Berger jaarlijks tientallen aspirant-piloten naar BAFA lokt met het vooruitzicht op een contract bij Jetairfly?

Re: Accident near Dunkerque.

No need to feel attacked, really. In fact, it tells more about how Het Nieuwsblad reports about such dramatic events than about you. Your second sentence was perceived by me as containing the critical, "new" information.

Re: Accident near Dunkerque.

I find it strange that you limit yourself to the translate the "sorry part". Criminal prosecution (luckily) does not depend on whether the culprit says sorry nor on whether the relatives on the victims require this.

As far as I know, only a few are equipped with this system because it was already installed when SN started leasing these planes.

I am aware of that, but they don't seem to have any plane in their fleet that could make it to BRU.

Re: Jet Airways out of Brussels

That's not what sn26567 suggested. SN has made clear several times that Asia is not a focus for them.

Leaves us with Asian Star Alliance members that don't fly to BRU yet: Air China, Air India, Asiana Airlines, Eva Air and Singapore Airlines (in alphabetical order).
