Re: France 24 (news channel) story on plane spotting
* Yes, a Wednesday afternoon would be better for meeting spotters; though mostly dilettants, probably. Weekend would be even better, in my limited experience. As pointed out by Vic, best of all would be to wait for some "very special" visitor aeroplane. At whatever day or hour, that will ...

Re: France 24 (news channel) story on plane spotting
What are the chances of finding spotters at BRU on a Tuesday or Wednesday morning? Rather slim, I'd say: weekday/workday, so unless there is any very special aircraft arriving or departing, there won't be much traffic on both of the spottersplaats. Plus it also depends on the weather, so it is not ...

Indeed, it was a typo. KRK is listed under "Poland". Thanks for the hint, I corrected my post.

Austrian Airlines to adjust schedules for winter flight plan
Austrian Airlines announced their winter flight schedule 2018/2019. It will see increased frequencies to German destinations, not necessarily to hubs - but also to Denmark, Ukraine and Greece. Eastern European destinations will see increased frequencies as well, especially in Ukraine. On the longhau...

Re: Brussels 21/07/2018 - Belgian National Day
Unfortunately, that was a sunshine-free performance... the formations were impressive though, especially the F-16s displaying a huge "5" to salute the 5th anniversary of the King.

Re: Brussels 21/07/2018 - Belgian National Day
Thanks - I use think of myself as being some kind of planespotter, so I usually use a slightly bigger equipment than mobile phone camera and am vaguely accustomed to the concept of sunlight and shadows. ;) But the information that they were flying along the Wetstraat (or to the south of it) is indee...

From your experience from previous years: which are good spots to take pictures of the aircraft flying over Brussels?

Brussels 21/07/2018 - Belgian National Day
Does anyone know about flight schedules of overflights during the National Day celebrations on next Saturday? Just some minutes ago, several aircraft overflew the Schuman area, flying at a low altitude. I might have missed some jets (F-16?) - but I heard them -, saw a small trainer and a pair of pro...

So to sum it up: some nice big boys are coming, late in the evening during the BEL-FRA game and in less-than-perfect light conditions (overcast). Have I missed something?

Re: BRU 09/06/2018
It has spent exactly two hours in BRU. That's a long fuel stop! What a waste. It's interesting to notice that a fuel stop may be required for a flight that usually doesn't exceed 11 hours. It's normally well within the A340's capabilities but Bogota airport must be really challenging. It seems the ...

Turns out that weekend's flight criticized by some "experts" as "total failure" for having only 15 pax on board was a mere technical flight - and NOT the inaugural one. Well well... so much for the term "expert"... The "test flight" on 3th June was open...
