That would make sense. Or even better, have two EuroWings topics: one for EuroWings in Belgium and one for their operations abroad.brusselsairlinesfan wrote: ↑16 May 2019, 19:55 Time to merge this topic with Eurowings in 2019, no?!

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions
A meeting for CANAC atco's had been planned for 10h today. The initial email called of the COO for everyone to be there so they could explain the 'agreement'. However, 10h is a busy time to work, so a lot of people wouldn't be able to attend anyway. And even for those in break, attending isn't obvi...

What happened to the longhaul center of excellence? Is it established yet, and where is it located if so? At BRU?

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Just one proof of the contrary: the Bruegel aircraft (OO-SNE). That A320 can't go to the paint shop in Malta or Hamburg next week to get Eurowings colours. It's part of a five year commercial contract, signed between Christina Foerster on behalf of Brussels Airlines nv/sa and Peter De Wilde on beha...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
With all due respect, but Air Belgium is currently a failed project. They are lucky to be able to fly for other airlines at the moment, because without this lifeline it would probably be already over. While I agree, by that definition Sabena was always a failed project because they were lucky to ha...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
Still don't understand why SN keeps spending money on painting their aircrafts knowing the fact that the brand will disappear. Such a pity to see that Belgium will have no more "Belgian-branded" airline... That won’t happen for a while as we already have Air Belgium. It is a downward spir...

Re: Lufthansa in 2019
Nobody knows. Lufthansa Group says that the allocation of the new aircraft among its airlines will be decided later. As well as the seat configuration (although I fear a 9-across seating in the Economy class of the 787). The rendering in the article says it all… Indeed... we only see LH, LX and OS....

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
The former bmi (and Cityjet) flights from Brussels to Hannover are not taken over. They are suspended for the whole summer season (and maybe even longer). All profit for Lufthansa: the SN pax are now routed through FRA and MUC. Not all profit, AF and KL are realistic alternatives. And that’s only g...

The Netherlands buy a 12.8% share in Air France-KLM Group
The Dutch government bought a share of AFKL for E 700,- million and suddenly there is renewed interest in the fate of Sabana, according to De Volksrant the horror scenario of Belgium and Sabena is the main reason for the investment. AFKL CEO Ben Smith and The Dutch minister referred to Sabena as wel...

Re: National strike in Belgium on 13 February 2019
^^ Fair points. Let me rephrase: if people working in the Belgian aviation sector see the upside of having a succesfull national carrier they shouldn’t go on strike for vague reasons that have nothing to do with their employer.

Re: National strike in Belgium on 13 February 2019
Pro tip for SN staff: if you want to become a successful ‘national’ airline despite LH’s efforts to turn you into a low cost franchise you don’t go on strike for vague reasons!

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
I agree. CS will only allow SN to fly long haul to Western and Central Africa and will want us to fly thru FRA, MUC, or Zurich to, for instance, fly to North America (but not me). You forget about the transatlantic JV LH has with UA. If a passenger flies on UA from BRU they make the same amount of ...
