Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

VRT interviewed the new CEO of SN
Main points:
- not planning to take away planes from BRU, but adding more instead
- No decision about name change this year
- Will stay a Belgian brand (she adds: employees are belgian, so it’s belgian anyway... hope that’s not the only belgian touch...)

Re: Brussels Airport monthly traffic figures

With 5.2 million passenders in First quarter, BRU sets a new record.

Painful Mistake though: in the Dutch version they say this record is Thanks to Many airlines, for instance “Qeshm airlines to Tel Aviv...”

Dont see that iranian company Flying to Israel for sure :p

Re: Cancelled services and discontinued routes in 2018

Did Ryanair stop its BRU-HAM route?
don't seem to find any flights anymore...

Also, SN didn't publish Yerevan in its April magazine anymore, but there's still a two weekly flight in summer.

SN is not flying to Tunesia, while I thought it would take over that route from Thomas Cook?

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

Brussels Airlines is going to remain the Africa specialist and some big news is expected to be announced shortly (within a couple of months). It won't take that long. I heard "two weeks"... I read in an article on de Morgen that the CEO of Eurowings said they were not going to expand long haul flig...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

It’s called shushing the unions ;) Quite possible indeed :-) But even if it's a stay of execution (let's say for another year or maybe 2), then it gives Brussels Airlines the time to prove that they can operate profitably and can continue to grow. And who knows, maybe Spohr will vanish into thin ai...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

When you think of it: wouldn't it be incredibly stupid of LH to kill Brussels Airlines and replace it by a bland meaningless LC brand like Eurowings, resulting in a BAD IMAGE in its new 'home market'? I mean come on. What a way to start a new brand in a new country! By erasing its home carrier! It ...

Mahan will do a one-off charter for Serbian capital on 20th March using A310 from Tehran.
Nowadays Iranian citizens can go to Serbia visa-free, maybe that charter will be the beginning of a new tourism industry.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Brussels is probably the only airport of a major European city to offer nonstop flights to only 4 of the TOP 20 major US International Airports... Thats a joke! How can you attract serious transfer traffic when you really have so little to offer... At least on the Asian side it keeps on growing tha...
