Re: Abnormalities at BRU / ANR / LGG / CRL / OST

No mention of the best movement of the year at Antwerp?

2 Iraqi AF T-6A Texans on delivery, arrived 7/12.

Perhaps Luchtzakkers are only about civil airliners these days?

Re: Live air traffic above BE

2 "mistakes": He didn't showed a Lufthansa CRJ, Biman A310 You need to know some of the technicalities of the system. The majority of aircraft are "seen" by the box but not all are displayed on the screen. Look at the right side bar and you will find many more listed than show o...

Re: A quick-reply button on www.luchtzak.be ?

@ jan o Perhaps for "grumpy old men" there should always be another option - The "Who gives a s**t?" button. A true picture may then emerge. This goes for all polls - nothing is ever truly black and white as is evidenced by the variety of responses in threads on this site

Re: ADS-B receiver

And now there is to be a 3rd contender (due for launch in Jan 2010)

http://www.auroraeurotech.com/avionics/

Do you remember the days when spotting consisted of only a pen and paper and a pair of 8x30 binoculars - those were the days!!

Re: ADS-B receiver

There are 2 receivers on the market today 1. Kinetic SBS-1e http://www.kinetic-avionics.com/index.php 2. Airnav Radarbox http://www.airnavsystems.com/RadarBox/index.html They are both excellent pieces of kit and it is personal preference (and maybe price) which will dictate which you decide on. As t...

Re: Live air traffic above BE

For Heathrow movements try this link http://www.lhr-lgw.co.uk/heathrow/lhrmainindex.htm As to "radar" coverage of your airspace you could always purchase an SBS box or an Airnav box and have it set up on your own computer. That way you could customise it to your needs dependant upon your l...

a C-130 too dark to be a BAF one ?
I was told yesterday that a Canadian Herc was due - 130320. Either on an Open Skies mission or just having finished one. Didn't read it off so will need confirmation.

Re: Petition for spotters

I admire your optimism - good luck. One thing you might like to add to your petition is the fact that you would be willing to pay a fee for what you ask (you don't get owt for nowt, as they say in Northern England). If the airport authorities/land owners accede to your pleas then there will be costs...

@ fretn

Before you invest heavily in photographic equipment buy yourself a good pair of bins or a telescope. You will be able to see airways stuff, even without the trails - they are there everyday you know.

I am not a photographer so cannot comment on that side of things (Skystef is THE man) Regarding your wanting to know more about Radar box (or even the SBS box) it is like the TV programme says - Location, Location, Location. From your nickname I would assume you are in Leeds, W Yorkshire and Leeds s...

Re: BRU 04/06/2009

Military serials are just a great way to give yourself a headache. As there is no International convention, unlike for civil aircraft, each country develops its own system. One can't tell at a glance where a mil aircraft is from and some don't even paint the serials on the aircraft. The US system is...

Re: BRU 04/06/2009

@ Brubiac US serial presentation is not always so easy I am afraid. I assume that painted on to these helos is a serial 24589 & 24642 which you have assumed follows the C-17 (USAF) way of presenting. In fact these 2 are US Army aircraft and are from fiscal year 1987 so are 87-24589 and 87-24642....
