Re: Which future fighter jet for Belgian Defence?

http://www.f-16.net/f-16-news-article4991.html Interresting news! Extending the life of the F-16, which has a proven record of reliability, is certainly not a bad idea. It will save hundreds of millions of euros to the Belgian budget and give a few years of additional time to select the best option...

Re: Which future fighter jet for Belgian Defence?

I attended a conference on the replacement of the F-16s yesterday, by a retired General of the BAF. It looks like the F-35 is largely the favourite: the most technologically advanced and not necessarily the most expensive (with 3000 sales, vs 600 for the Eurofighter and 300 for the Rafale, the scal...

Re: Air Belgium in 2018

After all, with the new "investors" SIRW and FPM, and with Sowaer already involved, they're very close to a EU investigation into forbitten state aid. Specially when even more taxpayers money will be invested in a runway extension that is a waste of money (the EU doens't make a difference...

Re: Which future fighter jet for Belgian Defence?

According to the press, the F16 could live 6 more years until 2029 instead of 2023 as announced by NVA Steven VDP....this is the best option for Belgium, I wonder what push the nationalists to call for a new tender in such a hurry. The technology todays allows to extend Design Service Goal of an A/C...

Re: Air Belgium in 2018

I really doubt that Airbus Asset management would charge just by the FH flown.
I guess ABA got a good deal and some support package like training or discount on technical documentation package.

Re: Air Belgium in 2018

Excellent strategy.Hainan is having very big financial issue and I heard that they owe (460,000,000$...?) a huge amount of money to the national fuel company. Limit for payment is this Friday. There might be some route with a bit less competition soon...(PEK and PVG)

Re: Air Belgium in 2018

They need A340 jacks and also a hi-flow hydraulic rig to perform retraction-extension checks if needed be. If too windy, then they need a hangar to jack it up. For the rest, they should be able to perform line and light a CRL without the need of hangar. I would pay a particular attention on the hydr...

Re: B737 MAX vv. A321neoLR

A321LR is designed for long range market, MTOW 97Tons and max 3ACT's (9363 liters additional fuel capacity), leaving 6 containers positions/ 285 large bags(with bulk) and 202 roller bags in overhead bins.
To optimize some routes, ACT's are reduced to one or two, but can we still talk about LR then?

Regarding traffic in and out of China, second tier cities like Qingdao, Nanchang, Nanjing,Wuhan, Kunming, Jinan etc...let's keep in mind that for flight to Europe, pax needs to fly first to an international hub like Shanghai or Beijing to get a flight to Europe...hence the stop is there already.
