TUI restructures operations under single leadership to drive growth and efficiency

Share

TUI Group is undertaking a major organisational overhaul to accelerate growth, improve efficiency, and deepen integration across its tourism value chain.

The company will merge its previously separate segments—Markets + Airline and Holiday Experiences—into a single operational structure under a newly created Chief Operating Officer (COO) role. Marco Ciomperlik will assume this position and join the board, taking responsibility for all operational activities, including customer markets, airlines, hotels, and experiences.

As part of the restructuring:

  • CEO Sebastian Ebel will directly oversee hotel and cruise joint ventures as well as group strategy
  • CFO Mathias Kiep will take responsibility for mergers and acquisitions
  • Mircea Tudose will lead regional operations and join the Executive Committee

The changes also involve leadership departures, with Markets + Airline CEO David Schelp and Holiday Experiences CEO Peter Krueger leaving the company at the end of April 2026.

TUI’s new structure aims to centralise decision-making, unlock synergies across its integrated business model, and strengthen its global competitiveness in the travel and tourism sector.
