TUI will begin operating return flights from the Middle East starting Tuesday to bring home customers stranded due to the ongoing military conflict in the region, CEO Sebastian Ebel said in an interview with broadcaster NTV.
The German tourism group is coordinating with major Gulf carriers, including Etihad Airways, Emirates and Qatar Airways, to facilitate the repatriation effort.
According to Ebel, around 30,000 German tourists from various tour operators are currently stranded across the region, including approximately 10,000 TUI customers.
The move comes as tour operators and airlines respond to mounting disruption caused by the conflict, with travel companies scrambling to organise evacuation and return options for affected holidaymakers.
