TUI Group is ramping up capacity to Spain and Greece for summer 2026, adding 68 additional flights in April as demand for Mediterranean holidays continues to rise.
The expansion will provide around 10,000 extra seats, with departures from major German airports including Hanover, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich.
According to TUI Germany chief Benjamin Jacobi, travellers are increasingly opting for reliable, close-to-home holiday destinations, with Spain and Greece emerging as the top choices for summer 2026.
New and expanded services will target key leisure hotspots such as:
Mallorca, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote
Greek islands, including Crete and Rhodes
TUI reports that bookings for Spain and Greece are running neck-and-neck, together leading demand across its network. More broadly, European destinations now account for around 75% of total bookings, reflecting a continued shift towards shorter-haul, predictable travel markets.
The company has warned that high demand could limit availability, urging customers to book early for peak travel periods.
TUI fly Deutschland currently operates over 560 weekly flights to holiday destinations across the Mediterranean, Canary Islands, Cape Verde and the Red Sea, offering approximately 3 million seats.
Spain remains the largest market, with 220+ weekly flights, including around 80 to Mallorca
Greece follows with 180+ weekly flights, serving destinations such as Crete, Rhodes and Kos
Bottom line: TUI’s capacity increase highlights a sustained post-pandemic trend: strong, early demand for mainstream Mediterranean destinations, driving airlines and tour operators to add lift—particularly from key outbound markets like Germany.
