Thomas Cook Group has completed the renewal of its European fleet with the commissioning of four new Airbus A321 aircraft. The aircraft will serve partly as fleet expansion, but also replace some popular Boeing 757s at some of the subsidiaries of the group.
Since January this year, four A321s were delivered from the assembly line in Hamburg. In total there are now 25 of these aircraft in the Thomas Cook fleet: Condor has 6 of them, Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia also 6 and Thomas Cook Airlines UK 13. Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium flies only A320s. Thomas Cook has invested a total of 100 million pounds (125 million euros) in fleet renewal.
Previously the group had announced that it would add additional Boeing 767s and Airbus A330s to its fleet for the intercontinental network. The new A321s are mainly used for holiday flights to the Mediterranean countries.
