SSP, the global leader in food and beverage services for high-traffic locations, will open the first Pret A Manger outlet in Flanders on 16 December 2025 at Antwerp Central Station. The opening marks a significant milestone for SSP Belgium, further strengthening its strategy to enhance the passenger experience in major transport hubs.
While the new Pret is located at a railway station, the announcement underscores SSP’s strong focus on aviation and travel infrastructure. SSP operates hospitality outlets in airports, train stations and other mobility hubs worldwide, and aviation remains a core pillar of its business. In Belgium, SSP has expanded steadily since 2009, notably following its contract win at Brussels South Charleroi Airport in 2018, and now operates 74 outlets nationwide by 2025. Its aviation-focused portfolio includes brands such as Airport Bar, alongside major international and local concepts.
Pret A Manger, founded in London in 1986, has expanded to over 700 locations in 20 countries, with SSP operating 42 Pret outlets globally. The Antwerp opening becomes the second Pret in Belgium, following Brussels South Station in 2019, and reflects continued investment in premium, fast, and high-quality food options tailored to travellers.
For passengers, Pret offers freshly prepared food, organic coffee and fast service, designed for people on the move—qualities particularly aligned with airport environments. The Antwerp restaurant will feature 78 seats, extended opening hours, and a takeaway-friendly concept suited to both commuters and international travellers.
Overall, the launch highlights how SSP continues to leverage its aviation and transport hub expertise to bring globally recognised brands like Pret A Manger into strategic mobility locations, enhancing the overall journey experience for air and rail passengers alike.
