Over 800 passengers on a Brussels–London Eurostar train were stranded for more than nine hours on June 25, 2025, near Rodelinghem (Pas-de-Calais) due to a power supply failure that left the train immobilised without electricity, air conditioning, or functioning toilets. A complex transfer operation was carried out with support from local authorities, allowing passengers to continue their journey.
During the incident, one passenger was treated for a minor illness and taken to the hospital. Water was distributed, doors were opened for ventilation, and civil protection teams provided assistance.
The disruption coincided with major delays on TGV and Eurostar services caused by cable theft near Lille. Passengers expressed frustration on social media over the lack of communication, though some passed the time with a spontaneous trackside concert.
