Starting 15 December 2025, Eurostar will operate five direct trains per day in each direction between London and Amsterdam, boosting capacity and flexibility for travellers.

This expansion follows the February 2025 opening of Amsterdam’s new cross-channel terminal, which has enabled Eurostar to more than double train capacity, from 275 to over 650 passengers per train. The upgraded terminal now supports full-capacity operations and a seamless city-to-city journey.

Since the terminal’s opening, passenger traffic is up 18% year-on-year. Eurostar CEO Gwendoline Cazenave noted the strong demand and emphasised the route’s role as a sustainable alternative to air travel. With over 3,000 seats daily, the London–Amsterdam route is one of the busiest in Europe and a key part of Eurostar’s growth strategy.

Business travel remains strong, accounting for 15% of 2024 passengers (around 130,000 people). Eurostar carried 4.3 million passengers to and from the Netherlands in 2024 and is aiming to reach 30 million annually across its network, supported by new trains and destinations such as Geneva.

This expansion underscores Eurostar’s commitment to efficient, high-speed, low-carbon travel across Europe.
