European Sleeper has successfully launched a new overnight rail service linking Paris, Brussels, and Berlin, marking the return of a direct night train connection between these major European capitals.
The inaugural departure on 26 March from Paris Gare du Nord was celebrated by rail industry figures, policymakers, and partners. The train arrived the following morning at Berlin Hauptbahnhof, where officials welcomed the service as a step forward for cross-border rail travel.
Operating three times per week, the new route strengthens European Sleeper’s expanding network, complementing existing services such as Brussels–Amsterdam–Berlin–Prague, with further expansion planned, including a Milan route from September 2026.
Company founders emphasised the gradual revival of night trains as both a viable business and a sustainable travel alternative. Belgian Mobility Minister Jean-Luc Crucke highlighted the environmental benefits, noting the role of such services in promoting low-carbon tourism and closer European integration.
The train offers a range of fare options—from budget seats starting around €40 to higher-comfort sleeper compartments with added amenities—aiming to attract both cost-conscious and premium travellers.
The launch reflects growing demand for rail travel across Europe and signals renewed momentum for overnight trains as a practical and environmentally friendly alternative to flying.
