According to IATA, global air travel demand in June 2025 rose by 2.6% year-on-year, marking a slowdown in growth due to Middle East conflicts and capacity outpacing demand. Capacity increased 3.4%, pushing the global load factor down by 0.6 points to 84.5%, though still historically high.
With limited capacity growth projected for August, IATA expects load factors to remain near record highs, especially through the Northern Hemisphere’s summer travel peak.
