According to Belgian financial newspaper L’Echo, Dutch group Fokker Aerospace sold its 43.57% stake in Belgian aerospace supplier Sabca to Dassault Belgique Aviation for 7.5 million euros.

Dassault Belgique Aviation already owned 52.96% of the capital. Its stake now stands at 96.85%.

The French group has confirmed that it will maintain the listing of Sabca and that it does not currently intend to launch a takeover bid on the balance of the capital.

Headquartered in Brussels, Sabca is one of the main aerospace companies in Belgium. Founded in 1920, it has built extensive and varied know-how based on its 95+ years experience in designing, building and upgrading large and complex elements for aircraft and space launchers. Its main plants are in Haren (Brussels) and Charleroi. Sabca has two subsidiaries: Sabca Limburg, specialised in the manufacturing of high-tech composite assemblies for aircraft, and ASM Aero.

SABCA is a reliable partner of major OEMs for commercial, business and transport aircraft like Airbus, Dassault Aviation and Gulfstream.

Its participation in their programmes includes pre-design, design, development, production, testing and after-sales support of large and complex metallic and composite primary and secondary structures.

SABCA‘s specialities comprise heavily loaded metallic structures like Pressurized Floors and Flap Support Mechanisms. On the composite side, it provides its customers with advanced CFRP skins with integrated stiffeners for their flaps and horizontal stabilisers, as well as HTP spars and Flap Track Fairings.

SABCA also produces special systems for business and commercial jets, like the Direct Drive Valve equipping the A320 family and the A340-500/600, or hydraulic devices for the Dassault Falcon jets.
