On Friday night a 25-year-old Romanian was arrested in Steenokkerzeel, a little village near Brussels Airport. Reason? He was beaming on a police helicopter with a laser pen when a police helicopter approached the landing site of the 15th Wing Air Transport military base in Melsbroek.

Instead of landing the police helicopter took off again and followed the person concerned in his vehicle until a patrol of the KASTZE police zone intercepted the car. Before the Romanian was released he has been charged for possession of a forbidden weapon, a laser pen and for intentional endangering of the security of air traffic. He will appear in court at the end of February.
