Pakistan’s airspace will remain closed for commercial air traffic for another three days, a NOTAM that was issued today revealed. Some restrictions, however, apply as flight operations will be allowed to and from 4 international airports (Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and Islamabad) after 13:00 (UTC) later today. Originally, the airspace was scheduled to reopen this morning (1 March).

Since the escalation between Pakistan and India, air traffic was seriously affected in the region. Airlines were forced to avoid the country resulting in many cancellations and diversions (fuel-stops).

A new Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was issued with more information on the restriction.
