Two people (a man and a woman identified as Olivier Masson and Ghislaine Neuforge) died in the accident of a microlight that crashed this Saturday at 13:30 at barely 900 metres from the landing strip of the Buzet flying club of Pont-à-Celles in the province of Hainaut (Belgium).

The ULM came from the airfield of Maillen (Assesse) and asked to land at the Buzet flying club, but according to our information, without asking for a particular urgency“, explains the Mayor of Pont-à-Celles, Pascal Tavier. “The medical assistance quickly arrived but, given the scale of the impact, they could not do much.

The reasons for this accident are not known, says the mayor.

This is the third microlight accident this week, and also the worst one. Last Tuesday in Maillen (Assesse) in the province of Namur, the pilot of French origin did a bad job and ran aground in a wheat field near the runway where he was supposed to land. There are no casualties.

The second accident occurred on Wednesday, along the E40 motorway Brussels-Liege at Landen, between the motorway and the HST tracks. The pilot and his passenger were slightly injured.
