A tragic aircraft accident in the German town of Korschenbroich, located in North Rhine-Westphalia near the Lower Rhine, has claimed the lives of two people after a Beechcraft B36TC Bonanza carrying registration D-EHVM crashed into a residential property on Saturday, 31 May.
The incident occurred around 12:10 p.m. when the light aircraft came down onto the terrace of a private house. Authorities have confirmed that one of the deceased is a 71-year-old female pilot. It remains unclear at this time whether the second victim was a passenger on board the aircraft or a resident of the house struck by the plane.
Following the crash, a fire broke out at the site. Emergency services responded swiftly, with around 50 firefighters deployed to control the flames. The blaze was brought under control after approximately one hour.
German police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. So far, no information has been released regarding what led to the aircraft’s fatal descent.
