On 8 August around 15:20 (UTC +2), a glider crashed near Tienen, Belgium. According to Katrien Partyka, Mayor of Tienen, two persons died in the crash.
The pilot, aged 57, and his 18-year-old passenger are deceased, the Louvain prosecutor’s office confirmed.
The glider crashed in a field about one kilometre from the Goetsenhoven/Gossoncourt airfield.
The exact circumstances of the accident are still being investigated.
