A Tara Air DHC-6 Twin Otter (9N-AEV) got badly damaged in a runway excursion when it ran against a fence + other obstacles following a bounced landing at Jumla Airport (VNJL) on Saturday (9 June 2018). All 18 pax + 3 crew remained unhurt.
“The aircraft, which had flown in from Nepalgunj, became uncontrolled after the puncture of the nose wheel and hit a fence at the airport“, informed Nepalgunj Airport chief Pratap Babu Tiwari to newspaper The Kathmandu Post. “No injuries or casualties are reported from the incident that occurred at 3 pm today.”
“Captain JK Niraula was flying the aircraft. There were 21 persons including three crew members onboard the aircraft.”
