The Enstrom 280C registered N280MG hit the ground, burst into flames and the main fuselage was consumed by fire.

A midair collision between two helicopters (an Enstrom F-28A reg. N520H, and an Enstrom 280C Shark reg. N280MG) in southern New Jersey on Sunday killed one person and critically injured another, according to local authorities.

The crash occurred near Hammonton around 11:25, prompting an emergency response from police and fire crews, who extinguished a fire involving one of the aircraft (the 280C). Video footage showed the helicopter spinning before it hit the ground. The F-28A impacted the ground but did not catch fire. The injured person was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have launched an investigation into the incident.
