On Thursday morning at 11:00 (UTC +2), a light aircraft has crashed near Breda International Airport. After the impact, the aircraft immediately caught fire. According to the police, the pilot – and only occupant – has passed away.
Thunderstorms and rain have been reported in the vicinity, but it is unclear that this is the reason for the crash. An investigation of the accident will be launched, most likely by the Dutch civil aviation authorities.
The aircraft has now been identified as a Piper Pawnee (SE-KHF), from CNE-Air, a company specialized in aerial photography, aerial advertising and airplane banner towing.
