A civilian helicopter made an emergency landing in a field near Den Helder in the Netherlands on Thursday afternoon after experiencing a technical problem. No one was injured.
Emergency services were alerted at around 15:50 local time following reports of an aviation accident. Firefighters, police and ambulance crews were dispatched to the scene, with two trauma helicopters also initially alerted. The incident was subsequently escalated to GRIP 1.
The helicopter landed under its own power and was not involved in a crash. The area was cordoned off while the Aviation Service investigates the cause of the technical problem. Initial reports incorrectly described the incident as a helicopter crash.
